Megacall Zapier integrationAutomate Megacall with Zapier.
The Megacall Zapier integration gives you 10 triggers and 8 actions. Every trigger is instant, so a call or a message reaches your Zap straight away, even on the free plan. The actions write callbacks, leads, customers and events, or send an SMS.

What the Megacall Zapier integration does for a support desk
Megacall is a calling tool for support and sales agents. Connected to Zapier, it reports its call and message events to a Zap (the automation you build on Zapier: one event that starts it, then one or more steps that run every time). The Zap then writes into Megacall's CRM, or into another tool, without an agent switching screens.
Nobody forgets to call back. When Megacall reports a missed call, Notify Missed starts the Zap and Create Callback puts a callback task in Megacall. The number goes in E.164 format (plus sign, country code, then the number), and the internal number that should ring is required too.
Every unknown caller gets a record. A call that starts or ends can feed Create Lead or Create Customer, so the caller is already in the CRM the next time anyone needs the record. Look the caller up first with Find Lead or Find Customer, which search by phone number.
A text gets an answer. Notify SMS fires when Megacall receives a text, and Send SMS sends one out. Facebook Messenger works the same way, with Notify to Facebook Messenger on the way in and Send Message to Page from Facebook Messenger on the way out.
What Zapier does not do here: it has no search step for Megacall (the two Find operations are listed as actions), no operation that updates or deletes a lead, a customer or an event, and nothing that reaches calls made before the Zap was switched on. If you are weighing other tools for the same job, see our n8n vs Zapier and Make vs Zapier comparisons.
Zapier words, in plain English
Seven words come back on every line of this page. Here they are once, so the rest reads easily.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it, here a call or a message in Megacall.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that creates, writes or sends something for you, such as a callback or an SMS.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully; the number on your plan counts those.
- Instant trigger
- A trigger the app reports itself: it calls Zapier when the event happens, so nothing waits for a check. All Megacall triggers are instant.
- Polling trigger
- A trigger Zapier checks on a timer, asking the app for new items at a fixed interval. Megacall has none, but other apps in your Zap may.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it there otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What a Megacall Zap really costs
Megacall is not a premium app, so it works from the free plan. The bill is counted in tasks, and only a finished action is one.
- Megacall triggersFree, instant, no task
- Each successful action1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- Premium appNo
A call that starts your Zap costs nothing: the trigger never takes a task. Each action that succeeds is counted on its own, so a Zap that looks up a lead, then creates an event, then sends an SMS takes three tasks per call. An action that fails is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but each Zap stops at two steps: one trigger, one action. Add a filter or a second action and you need a paid plan. The interval grid below concerns polling triggers only; it does not apply to Megacall's instant triggers.
Connect Megacall to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open your connections
In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A connection is your Megacall account linked once, then reused by every step that uses Megacall.
- 02
Pick Megacall
Type Megacall in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the Megacall side. Pick the account your agents actually use, since every Megacall step in your Zaps will reuse it.
- 03
Sign in and allow access
Sign in to Megacall in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. You need a Megacall account, plus read or write access to anything you do not own and want the Zap to touch.
Your first Zap: a callback for every missed call
GoalWhen Megacall reports a missed call, a callback task lands in Megacall for the right internal number, and a filter keeps out the calls you choose to ignore.
- 01
Create the Zap
Start a new Zap and pick Megacall as the app that starts it, with Notify Missed as the event. Select the connection you just made.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items of the connected account, so you map fields on a real missed call. Note which field carries the caller's number.
- 03
Add a filter
Click the plus icon, add Filter, then set the field to look at, the rule and the value. Pick a text rule for text and a number rule for numbers, or the filter never passes.
- 04
Add Create Callback
Add Megacall again with Create Callback. Map the caller's number into Destination Phone Number, in E.164 format, and choose the internal number that should handle it.
- 05
Test, then publish
Run each step once and read what came back. When the callback shows up in Megacall, publish the Zap to switch it on. The filter makes it a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan.
Megacall triggers
10 events start a Zap when something happens in Megacall, and 10 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
Notify Answer
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new "notify answer" is created.”
Starts a Zap on each new "notify answer" event Megacall reports. Megacall's own description stops there, so the first test on a real answered call is what tells you which calls it covers.
Notify End
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new "notify end" is created.”
Fires on a new "notify end" event. Among the ten triggers, this is the one whose name speaks of an ending, which makes it the natural candidate for anything you write after a conversation.
Notify to Facebook Messenger
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when receiving message for facebook messenger.”
Reacts when Megacall receives a message for Facebook Messenger. Your page's messages can then feed the same Zaps as your phone lines.
Notify Missed
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new "notify missed" is created.”
Goes off on each new "notify missed" event in Megacall. It is the trigger to start from when the goal is a callback for calls Megacall marks as missed.
Notify Out Answer
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new "notify out answer" is created.”
Kicks in on a new "notify out answer" event. The official description adds nothing to the name, so check on a real call during the test which calls it reports.
Notify Out End
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new "notify out end" is created.”
Triggers on a new "notify out end" event, the counterpart of Notify End among the "Out" triggers. What it carries is only visible at the test.
Notify Out Missed
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new "notify out missed" is created.”
Starts the Zap when Megacall records a new "notify out missed" event. Nothing in the official description goes further, so read the test result before you build on it.
Notify Out Start
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new "notify out start" is created.”
Picks up a new "notify out start" event. Of the four "Out" triggers, it is the one whose name speaks of a start.
Notify SMS
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when receiving sms.”
Runs when Megacall receives a text message. This is the entry point for any routine that reacts to written messages on your Megacall numbers rather than to calls.
Notify Start
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new "notify start" is created.”
Reacts to a new "notify start" event in Megacall. Next to Notify Out Start, it is the start event without the "Out" in its name; the test shows which calls it covers.
Megacall actions
Megacall gives you 8 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

Send Message to Page from Facebook Messenger

Send SMS
ActionIn Zapier“Sends an SMS to the specified phone number.”
Sends a text to the number you give it. Destination Phone Number, in E.164 format, and Message are both required.
When a Megacall Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Megacall, and no rate limit is published for it. What breaks is what breaks on any Zap.
Three cases cover most of the surprises. Each one shows up the same way: a Zap that runs, but not quite on what you expected. If a Zap stops for a reason you cannot place, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
No history is picked up
A Zap only reacts to calls and messages that happen after you switch it on. Missed calls from last week stay where they are; moving that backlog is a separate job.A Zap that sets itself off
A Zap that writes where its own trigger watches can start again and again, and eat tasks fast. Be careful when a Messenger or SMS reply sits behind a message trigger.A sudden burst is held back
When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold the runs back instead of letting them all through.
