Messenger Bot Zapier integrationAutomate Messenger Bot with Zapier.
The Messenger Bot Zapier integration gives you 4 triggers, 0 actions and 0 searches. Messenger Bot is a source only: new subscribers, chats, orders and field changes start Zaps that write into your other apps. Zapier checks for them on a timer set by your plan.

What the Messenger Bot Zapier integration does
Messenger Bot is a marketing suite that brings Messenger, SMS, email, social media and e-commerce into one dashboard. Zapier, an automation service, lets what happens in Messenger Bot start work in your other apps. On Zapier it only offers triggers: it sends signals out, it never receives any.
Three outcomes cover what you can build. A contact list fed by your page: New Subscriber starts a Zap when someone new is added to your page, so the person can land in your CRM or mailing tool. Orders copied where you track them: New Order reacts when a subscriber orders on your e-commerce store, so a spreadsheet or an accounting tool can follow. Profiles kept in step: New or Updated Custom Field picks up subscriber information that is added or changed, and Chat Opened flags subscribers who chat on Messenger.
Now what Zapier does not do here. Messenger Bot has no action and no search on Zapier. No Zap can send a Messenger message, tag a subscriber or write a field back into Messenger Bot. The integration only works in one direction: out of Messenger Bot, into your other apps.
The four triggers are polling triggers. Zapier goes to check Messenger Bot at an interval that depends on your plan, every 15 minutes on Free. So each new item reaches your other apps at Zapier's next check, not the moment it happens in Messenger Bot.

Zapier words in one minute
Seven terms come back on every Zapier screen. Here they are once, in plain English.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. All four Messenger Bot operations are triggers: a subscriber, a chat, an order, a field.
- Action
- What the Zap does once started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you. Here it always runs in another app.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The count on your plan is a count of those.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger, like all four here, is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What Messenger Bot Zaps really cost
The trigger never costs a task, and neither do Zapier's checks on Messenger Bot, however often they run.
- Free plan100 tasks per month, unlimited Zaps, two steps per Zap
- Messenger Bot on the free planYes, it is not kept for paid plans
- BilledEach successful action in your other app
- Never billedThe trigger, the checks, a failed action
Only the action in your other app is billed: one task each time it succeeds. A Zap that copies each new order into a spreadsheet costs one task per order, and a failed action is not counted. Messenger Bot is not kept for paid plans, so two-step Zaps work on the free plan. A filter turns the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. All four triggers follow the interval grid below, since none of them is instant.
Connect your Messenger Bot account in three steps
- 01
Open your connections
In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A connection is your Messenger Bot account linked once, then reused by every Zap that starts from it.
- 02
Pick Messenger Bot
Search for Messenger Bot by name in the dialog that opens, select it in the list, then click Add connection. A new browser tab opens where Messenger Bot asks you to sign in.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Sign in to Messenger Bot in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. You need an account on the app, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.
Your first Messenger Bot Zap
GoalEach new order placed by a subscriber lands as a row in your spreadsheet, but only when it meets a condition you choose.
- 01
Create the Zap
Start a new Zap, pick Messenger Bot and the
New Orderevent as the trigger, then select the Messenger Bot connection you just added. - 02
Test the trigger
Run the test: Zapier brings back the three most recent orders of the connected account. Pick a real one so the mapping uses real values.
- 03
Add the filter
Click the plus icon, choose Filter, then set the field to look at, the rule and the value. A number rule only works on numbers, so match the rule to the field.
- 04
Add the spreadsheet action
Add a step, pick your spreadsheet app and its add-row action, then map the values of the test order into the columns you want.
- 05
Test, then publish
Test the step and check the row. Publish to switch the Zap on. With a filter it is a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan.
The 4 Messenger Bot triggers
4 events start a Zap when something happens in Messenger Bot. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
New or Updated Custom Field
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a subscriber's information is added or modified.”
Picks up subscriber information that is added or modified in Messenger Bot, so the details you collect in a conversation can travel to other tools.
Chat Opened
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when subscribers chat on messenger.”
Notices subscribers chatting with you on Messenger and hands each one to the next step of the Zap.
New Subscriber
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new subscribers is added to page.”
Starts the Zap when a new subscriber is added to your page, the simplest way to grow a list elsewhere from your Messenger audience.
New Order
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when subscribers order on your ecommerce store.”
Reacts when a subscriber orders on your e-commerce store, turning each purchase into a starting point for other apps.
When a Messenger Bot Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Messenger Bot and lists no rate limit for it.
What can go wrong comes from how polling Zaps work. These four cases are the ones to know before you switch yours on. If one already fails, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
No backlog
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Subscribers, chats and orders that already existed are never picked up.No duplicate runs
On a polling trigger, Zapier keeps track of what it has already seen, so the same subscriber or order does not start the Zap twice.Flood protection
If a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those items back.A Zap that restarts itself
As a general precaution, a Zap that writes into the place its own trigger watches can set itself off again and burn through tasks fast.
