MyReport Zapier integrationAutomate MyReport with Zapier.
MyReport Zapier integration: 2 triggers, 2 actions and 0 searches. Other apps can launch reports in MyReport, and a finished or failed report can start a Zap of its own. It runs on the free plan, and the notes below say where it trips.

What the MyReport Zapier integration actually does
It lets other apps order reports from MyReport, and lets the end of a report set off work elsewhere. Zapier runs automations called Zaps: each one waits for an event in one app, then does something in another. MyReport can sit at either end, as the trigger or as the action.
Reports ordered from a form. A new form response can feed Create and Launch a New Report with a title and a description, so the report starts without anyone opening MyReport. One trigger, one action: that fits the free plan.
Requests picked out of plain text. Detect and Launch New Reports reads a block of text, an email body for example, spots one or more report requests in it and launches each one.
A heads-up when a report is ready, or not. Report Finished tells your team chat or email tool that a report can be used, and Report Failed raises the alarm when a report will not be generated.
What Zapier does not do here: it cannot look up an existing report, since the integration has no search, and it does not go back over reports finished before the Zap was switched on. Both triggers are polling ones, so a finished report is noticed at the next check, not the instant it is done. And Detect and Launch New Reports skips any report that your credit or quota does not cover.

Zapier vocabulary, in plain words
Seven words come back on this page. Here is what each one means for a MyReport user.
- Zap
- The automation you build: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event that starts the Zap, such as a report that has finished. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: here, the step that creates and launches a report for you.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The count on your plan is a count of those.
- Polling trigger
- A trigger Zapier checks on a timer: it asks the app for new items at a fixed interval and keeps only what is new. Both MyReport triggers are.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What a MyReport Zap costs you
The trigger never costs a task, however often Zapier checks MyReport. Only a completed action is billed, whether it is a MyReport action or one in another app.
- Premium appNo, MyReport works on the free plan
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps only
- Trigger costNone, only successful actions count
- MyReport triggers2, both polling
Each action that succeeds counts once, so a Zap with three actions eats three times what a one-action Zap does. An action that fails is not counted, and a few apps and actions take more than one task. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each limited to two steps: one trigger, one action. A filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. Both MyReport triggers are polling ones, so the interval grid below applies to them directly.
Connect your MyReport account to Zapier
- 01
Open the Apps page
In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. A connection is your MyReport account linked once, then reused by every step that talks to MyReport.
- 02
Pick MyReport
Type MyReport in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the MyReport sign-in screen, where the rest of the setup happens.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Log in to MyReport in that tab and allow Zapier to use the account. You need an account on the app, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.
Your first Zap: an email for each finished report
GoalEach finished MyReport report that meets your condition is announced by email from your email tool.
- 01
Build the trigger
Create a Zap, choose MyReport and the Report Finished event, then select your MyReport connection so Zapier knows which account to check.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items of the connected account, so you map fields on a real finished report.
- 03
Add the filter
From the plus icon, add Filter, then set the field to look at, the rule and the value. A filter makes the Zap multi-step, so this step needs a paid plan.
- 04
Add the email step
Pick your email tool and its send action, then map the report details from the trigger into the recipient, the subject and the body.
- 05
Test, then publish
Run each step once and read what came back. When the email looks right in your inbox, click Publish to switch the Zap on.
MyReport triggers in Zapier
2 events start a Zap when something happens in MyReport. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
Report Finished
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a pending report task has finished and the report is ready to use.”
Fires once a pending report task has finished and the report is ready to use, then hands that report to the next step.
Report Failed
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a pending report task has failed in its execution and no report will be generated.”
Reacts when a pending report task fails in its execution, which means no report will come out of it.
MyReport actions in Zapier
MyReport gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Create and Launch a New Report
ActionIn Zapier“Generates a report based on input criteria and launches the report generation process.”
Builds a report from the criteria you pass it and starts its generation straight away.
Detect and Launch New Reports
ActionIn Zapier“Detects if the input text contains requests for one or more reports. If such requests are found, it initiates the report generation process for each. Reports that cannot be launched due to credit or quota limitations will be disregarded.”
Reads a piece of text, finds any requests for one or more reports in it, and launches each report it detects.
When a MyReport Zap breaks
Zapier lists no help article for MyReport, so the cases below come from how Zapier treats every app, plus what the two actions say about their own fields and limits.
Read these six cases before you publish. If a Zap still misbehaves, our Zapier troubleshooting page is the next stop.
A detected report never starts
Detect and Launch New Reports disregards any report that cannot be launched because of credit or quota limits. Check in MyReport which reports started. The description is too short
Create and Launch a New Report wants a description of at least 60 characters, on the same topic as the title. Map a field long enough to meet it.Older reports are never picked up
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Reports finished or failed earlier stay out; moving them is a separate job.A Zap that keeps restarting
As a general precaution, a Zap that writes into the place its own trigger watches can set itself off again and burn through tasks. Check at test. The same report does not fire twice
Zapier keeps track of what it has already seen on a polling trigger, so the same item does not start the Zap twice.A big batch is held back
When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those runs back.
