Overview

What the NPS.Today Zapier integration is for

It wires NPS.Today, the tool that collects customer loyalty feedback through NPS surveys, to the rest of your stack of apps. You build a Zap (the automation you set up on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that event happens), and NPS.Today can start it or receive its result.

Three results teams usually go after. Feedback where people actually look: New Response posts every answer in a team channel or a sheet, so nobody has to log in to read it. Surveys sent at the right moment: Send Survey adds a customer to a campaign and sends the survey as soon as an order ships or a ticket closes in another app. A staff list that keeps up: Add Employee adds a new hire to your NPS.Today organization the day HR creates the record.

And a fourth one, less obvious: New Campaign tells you when a campaign changes, so a reporting sheet stays in line with what is live.

What Zapier does not do here: there is no search step, so a Zap cannot look up a respondent or a campaign before acting. No action edits or deletes anything either. Everything is additive. Both triggers are instant, though, which means even a free plan gets responses straight away.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Eight words you will meet in the editor. Each one comes back further down this page.

Zap
Your automation on Zapier. One trigger starts it, then one or more actions run every time that event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for that event and nothing else.
Action
What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or adds something for you in another app.
Task
What Zapier bills. One task is one action that completed successfully, and your plan counts these.
Instant vs polling
Instant: the app tells Zapier the moment something happens. Polling: Zapier checks on a timer. NPS.Today is instant.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming item meets your condition. Otherwise the run stops there.
Connection
Your NPS.Today account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step that needs that app.
Multi-step Zap
Anything beyond one trigger plus one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it needs a paid plan.
Cost

What it really costs you

NPS.Today is not a premium app, so it runs on the free plan. Its triggers never cost a task. And since both are instant, the polling grid below does not apply to them: a response starts the Zap straight away, whatever your plan.

  • Trigger eventsFree, always
  • Free plan100 tasks a month
  • Free plan Zap sizeTwo steps
  • NPS.Today triggersInstant on every plan

You pay for actions. Each one that succeeds counts as one task, and a failed one counts for nothing. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and Zaps of two steps: one trigger, one action. A filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. The grid only matters if you mix NPS.Today with another app's polling trigger. Volume is what to watch: every survey answer that reaches an action is billed once per action.

Connect

Connect your NPS.Today account

  1. 01

    Open your Apps page

In Zapier, go to Apps and click + Add connection. You need an NPS.Today account first, plus access to any campaign you do not own but want a Zap to read or feed.

  2. 02

    Pick NPS.Today

Type the app name in the dialog, select NPS.Today from the results, then click Add connection. A new browser tab opens on the NPS.Today side for the sign-in.

  3. 03

    Sign in and allow access

Log in to NPS.Today in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. The connection now appears in your list, and every Zap that uses the app can reuse it.

First Zap

Your first Zap: log every response and alert the team

GoalEach new NPS.Today response is saved as a row in a spreadsheet and posted in a Slack channel.

  1. 01

    Create the Zap

Start a new Zap, choose NPS.Today as the trigger app and New Response as the event. Pick your connection and the campaign to listen to.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent responses from your account, so you map the next steps on real feedback instead of an empty sample.

  3. 03

    Add the spreadsheet row

Add Google Sheets and map the response into the columns of your feedback log. Test the step once and read what came back before going further.

  4. 04

    Add the Slack message

Add Slack, pick the channel, and put the response in the message text. Two actions make this a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan.

  5. 05

    Publish

When both actions look right, click Publish. From then on each response reaches the sheet and the channel the moment it is posted.

Triggers

The 2 NPS.Today triggers

2 events start a Zap when something happens in NPS.Today, and 2 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

New Campaign

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new campaign is added/update or deleted”

Despite its name, this one goes off when a campaign is added, updated or deleted. Treat it as a campaign change feed rather than a strict new-campaign alert.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
keep a reporting sheet or a dashboard list in line with the campaigns your customer success team runs.
Watch out
an edit or a deletion starts the Zap too, so a Zap that announces new campaigns can post twice for the same one.
2

New Response

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new response is posted to the given campaign”

Fires each time a customer answers a survey in the campaign you picked. This is the heart of the integration: the answer travels to your other tools as soon as it arrives.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
warn the account manager in a channel the minute a client leaves feedback, while the conversation is still fresh.
Watch out
the Action setting is required; it names the event you subscribe to, so check it before testing.
Actions

The 2 NPS.Today actions

NPS.Today gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Add Employee

Action

In Zapier“Adds an employee to your organization”

Adds a person to your NPS.Today organization, without anyone retyping the details by hand.

When to use it
add each new hire the day your HR tool creates their record, so your team list in NPS.Today stays complete without a manual step.
Watch out
a Zap that runs on every HR change can add the same person more than once.
2

Send Survey

Action

In Zapier“Adds a respondent to the given campaign and sends a survey”

Adds a respondent to the campaign you choose and sends them the survey in the same move. The trigger can come from any app: a shipped order, a closed ticket, a finished project.

When to use it
ask for feedback right after a support ticket is solved, while the experience is fresh.
Watch out
each run sends a real survey to a real customer, so test with your own address first.
When it breaks

When it breaks

Zapier links no help article to NPS.Today, so the traps below are the general ones, applied to how this app works.

None of them shows up as an error message. The Zap goes quiet, runs twice, or keeps going. If something still looks wrong after these checks, the Zapier troubleshooting guide covers the next steps.

  • Old responses are never picked up

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Responses collected before stay in NPS.Today; moving that history is a separate job.
  • A survey that answers itself

A Zap started by New Response that uses Send Survey on the same campaign can resend surveys with each answer, and burn through your task count fast.
  • New Campaign fires on edits too

The trigger also reacts to updates and deletions. A Zap built to announce launches will speak up when someone fixes a typo or removes a campaign.
  • A big batch gets held back

Load a large list of respondents at once and a flood of responses can follow. Zapier's flood protection can hold back a trigger that suddenly returns too much.

FAQ

NPS.Today and Zapier: common questions

01Is the NPS.Today Zapier integration free?
Yes, it works on the free plan, because NPS.Today is not a premium app. The free plan includes 100 tasks a month and Zaps of two steps, one trigger and one action. That is enough to post each new response in a channel. As soon as you add a filter or a second action, for instance logging the response and alerting the team, you need a paid plan. The triggers themselves are instant on every plan, free included.
02How many tasks does an NPS.Today Zap use?
One per action that succeeds, and nothing for the trigger. A Zap that posts each response in Slack uses one task per response; add a spreadsheet row and it uses two. An action that fails is not counted. Survey volume drives the bill: a busy campaign with many answers a month fills the 100 tasks of the free plan quickly. Watch out for a Zap that sends surveys on every response, which can loop.
03Is NPS.Today to Zapier real time?
Yes. Both NPS.Today triggers are instant triggers: the app tells Zapier as soon as a response is posted or a campaign changes, instead of Zapier checking on a timer. The plan's polling interval does not apply, so a free plan gets the same speed as a paid one. In the editor, a Zap built on an instant trigger shows a lightning bolt. The type is set by the app and cannot be changed from Zapier.
04What does it take to connect NPS.Today to Zapier?
An NPS.Today account, plus access to any campaign you do not own but want a Zap to read or feed. The connection takes three moves: open the Apps page in Zapier and click + Add connection, pick NPS.Today, then sign in on the tab that opens and grant access. The connection is then reused by every Zap that uses the app. For New Response, the campaign must exist before you set up the trigger.
05Why does a New Campaign Zap run when nothing new was created?
Because the trigger also fires when a campaign is updated or deleted, not only when one is added. Its name says new, its behavior says changed. A Zap meant to announce launches will therefore also run when someone edits a campaign's settings or removes an old one. Each of those runs costs a task if the action goes through. A filter can hold back the cases you do not want, keeping in mind that a filter needs a paid plan.
06What if the operation you need is not available for NPS.Today?
Then Zapier cannot do it with NPS.Today today. The integration offers two triggers and two actions: no search, no way to update or delete a respondent, nothing to export a report. Often the instant New Response trigger is enough to move feedback where it is needed, and the rest happens in the destination app. If not, check what another platform offers for NPS.Today, or keep that step manual for now.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for NPS.Today?
It depends on your criteria, not on a winner. Zapier is quick to set up for non-technical teams, and here both triggers are instant even on the free plan, which suits feedback that should travel fast. Make and n8n have their own catalogs and their own billing logic, so check what each one offers for NPS.Today. n8n also appeals to teams that want to host their own automations. Match each option to your process before choosing.
