What the NuMetric Zapier integration actually does for your books
Zapier is a tool that links two apps so that an event in one makes something happen in the other, without you copying anything by hand. With NuMetric, an accounting platform, that means two things: new records in NuMetric can start an automation, and other apps can create customers, invoices, bills or taxes in NuMetric for you.
Three results people usually build first. A customer file that stays in sync: a sign-up in your CRM runs Create Customer, and later edits go through Update Customer. Paperwork that follows the sale: a fresh estimate picked up by New Estimate feeds Create Invoice, so nobody retypes the line items. A team that hears about money: New Transaction or Payment Reminder posts to the chat tool or inbox your finance people already watch.
Now what Zapier does not do here. There is no search step for NuMetric, so a Zap cannot look up an existing invoice, vendor or product before acting on it. There is no delete action, and the only edit available is on customers. And none of the triggers is instant: NuMetric never pings Zapier, Zapier always comes to check. If any of that is a dealbreaker, the comparisons Make vs Zapier and n8n vs Zapier lay out how the other two tools approach the same job, criterion by criterion.
One more thing worth knowing before you start: NuMetric is not a premium app on Zapier, so every operation on this page is open on the free plan. The free plan simply caps the shape of the Zap, which the cost section covers.
The Zapier words you will meet, in one minute
Eight terms come back on every line of this page. Here they are once, in plain words.
- Zap
- The automation you build: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap, such as a new invoice in NuMetric. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or creates something for you, like a bill or a customer.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully, and your plan counts those.
- Polling trigger
- A trigger Zapier checks on a timer. It asks NuMetric for new items at a fixed interval and keeps only what it has not seen yet.
- Instant trigger
- A trigger the app reports itself, the moment the event happens. NuMetric has none of these, so this page never relies on one.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets a condition you set, and stops it quietly otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What it really costs to run NuMetric through Zapier
The trigger never costs a task, and neither does Zapier checking NuMetric, however often it looks.
- Trigger checkFree, whatever the interval
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps only
- Premium appNo, NuMetric works on the free plan
- Filter or second actionMulti-step Zap, paid plan
You pay per action that succeeds: a Zap that creates an invoice uses one task per run, one that creates a tax and an account uses two, and a failed action is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps, and a check every 15 minutes, but only two-step Zaps. Add a filter or a second action and you are on a paid plan. Size your plan on how many items your trigger brings in, how many transactions or invoices a month, not on how many Zaps you run.
Connect your NuMetric account to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open the connections page
In your Zapier account, go to Apps, then click + Add connection. A connection is your NuMetric account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Zap that touches NuMetric.
- 02
Pick NuMetric and sign in
Type NuMetric in the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on NuMetric: sign in with the account that owns the businesses you want the Zaps to write into.
- 03
Grant access and come back
Allow Zapier to use the account. If a business you want to automate belongs to someone else, make sure your login has read or write access to it first, otherwise the Zap will see nothing there.
Your first Zap: set up a new business with its tax and its first account
GoalEach time a business appears in NuMetric, create its tax line and an account in its chart of accounts, with no retyping.
- 01
Build the trigger
Create a Zap, pick NuMetric as the app and New Business as the event, then choose your NuMetric connection. This is where the Zap starts every time.
- 02
Test it on a real business
Run the trigger test. Zapier brings back the three most recent businesses from your account; pick one so the next steps have real values to map.
- 03
Add Create Tax
Add a NuMetric action, choose Create Tax, map Business from the trigger, then fill the tax name, abbreviation, description and rate you apply.
- 04
Add Create Account
Add a second NuMetric action, Create Account. Map Business again, then set the account name and its section. Two actions make this a multi-step Zap, so a paid plan.
- 05
Test, then publish
Test each action once and check the result in NuMetric before going further. Then publish the Zap to switch it on. It only reacts to businesses created after that moment.
The 12 NuMetric triggers, one by one
12 events start a Zap when something happens in NuMetric. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
New Account

New Business
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new business is created.”

Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new product is created.”

New Receipt
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new receipt is created.”
Hands over each receipt recorded in NuMetric, the proof that a payment came in or went out. It suits anyone who files or reconciles paperwork outside the accounting tool.
New Transaction
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new transaction occurs.”
Fires on each transaction that lands in NuMetric, the money movements behind your books. Every movement counts, so on an active account it can start your Zap far more often than the others.
New Vendor
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new vendor is added.”
Tells Zapier about every vendor, a supplier you buy from, added to NuMetric. The supplier's contact details follow along for the next step.
Payment Reminder
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when an invoice's due date matches with today's date.”
Unlike the others, this one is not about something new: it goes off when an invoice reaches its due date today. That makes it the trigger for chasing payments on time.
The 12 NuMetric actions, grouped by what they create
NuMetric gives you 12 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

When a NuMetric Zap breaks, and why
Zapier attaches no help article to NuMetric, so the known failure points are the general ones, plus the required fields of each action.
Most broken runs come from four situations. When something goes wrong that you cannot place, the Zapier troubleshooting page walks through the checks in order.
The Zap ignores your history
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you publish it. Invoices, bills or customers that already existed are never picked up; moving them is a separate job.A Zap that triggers itself
Write into the very place your trigger watches, say Create Customer behind New Customer, and the Zap starts again and again, burning through your tasks.A bulk import gets held back
After a migration, a trigger can suddenly return a huge batch. Zapier's flood protection may hold those items back instead of running them all.A required field arrives empty
Many NuMetric actions require fields such as National ID, Fax or Purchase Order. If the source step leaves one blank, the action fails for that run.
