People Data Labs Zapier integrationAutomate People Data Labs with Zapier.
The People Data Labs Zapier integration has 0 triggers, 0 actions and 2 searches. It never starts a Zap on its own: it sits in the middle of one, fills in what you know about a person or a company, and hands the richer record to the next step.

What People Data Labs adds to a Zap
People Data Labs is a data service that completes person and company records. On Zapier it offers two lookups: you give it what you already know, and it returns a much fuller profile that the following steps of your Zap can use, without anyone searching by hand.
Leads that arrive with context. Put Enrich Person right after a form or a sign-up, and the contact lands in your CRM with over 100 points of information instead of a bare name.
Accounts that describe themselves. Enrich Company takes the little you have on a business and returns over 25 points about it, ready for a sheet or an account record.
Cleaner routing. With either profile in hand, a filter can decide where the record goes next, for example only passing on companies that match your target.
None of this needs a person in the loop once the Zap is published: the lookup happens inside the run, and the next step receives the completed profile as if it had always been there.
What Zapier does not do here: People Data Labs has no trigger and no action on Zapier. It cannot start a Zap, and it cannot store or update anything for you. Another app always opens the Zap, and another app always receives the result.
The same app on Make: People Data Labs Make integration. For the broader picture, see Make vs Zapier.
Zapier words, explained once
Seven words do most of the work on this page. Here they are in plain English.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more steps that run every time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. People Data Labs has none, so another app always plays this part.
- Action
- What the Zap does once started: the step that writes, sends or moves something, such as saving the enriched contact.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Your plan's count is a count of those.
- Search step
- A step that looks up something that already exists and passes what it found to the steps after it. Both People Data Labs operations are searches.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A search or a filter makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What an enrichment Zap costs
People Data Labs itself is not a premium app on Zapier, but the shape of its Zaps decides the bill: a search step always makes the Zap multi-step.
- Trigger0 tasks
- Each successful action1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- Zap with a searchMulti-step, paid plan
The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and only builds two-step Zaps, one trigger and one action. A Zap with a People Data Labs search therefore needs a paid plan. Every action that succeeds counts as one task; one that fails does not, and a few apps or actions take more than one task when they complete. The trigger never costs a task. The interval grid below applies to the polling trigger of the app that opens the Zap, if it polls.
Connect People Data Labs to Zapier
- 01
Start from your connections
Open the Apps page of your Zapier account and click + Add connection. A connection is your account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step that calls People Data Labs.
- 02
Pick People Data Labs
Search for People Data Labs in the dialog, select it and click Add connection. You need an existing People Data Labs account; the link cannot create one for you.
- 03
Sign in and approve
Sign in to People Data Labs in the tab that opens, then grant Zapier access to the account. From there, both searches can use this connection in any Zap.
Your first Zap: enrich each new lead before it hits the CRM
GoalEvery new form entry is completed by People Data Labs, then saved as a contact in your CRM with the extra details.
- 01
Choose what starts the Zap
Create a Zap. For the trigger, pick the form app and its new-entry event: People Data Labs cannot start a Zap, so this first step always belongs to another tool.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test: Zapier brings back the three most recent entries of that account. Pick a real one, so the next steps are set up on actual data.
- 03
Add the enrichment
Add a step, choose People Data Labs and Enrich Person, then map what the form gave you into it. Decide what happens when no match is found (see the settings below).
- 04
Send the result on
Add the CRM and its contact action. Map both the form values and the enriched values into the contact. This action is the step that counts as a task.
- 05
Test and publish
Test each step once and read what came back, then publish the Zap to switch it on. For a guided path through the editor, there is the Zapier training.
The 2 People Data Labs searches
2 search steps look for data that already exists in People Data Labs, so a later step can use it.
Both operations are search steps. In the editor they sit at the bottom of the action-event list, under the SEARCH heading. How close a match has to be is decided by People Data Labs, not by Zapier. Three settings decide what happens when the lookup does not go as planned.
Enrich Company
SearchIn Zapier“Takes in data on a company and returns over 25 points of information about it.”
Hand it the few details you have on a business and you get back more than 25 details on that company, which later steps can drop into an account record.
Enrich Person
SearchIn Zapier“Takes in data on a person and returns over 100 points of information about them.”
Turns a thin contact into a full profile: give it what you know about someone and you get back more than 100 details that the next steps can map into your CRM or sheet.
The three settings every search exposes
- Successful if no search results are found?Left on its default, a search that finds nothing stops the Zap there and the steps that relied on it are skipped. Switched on, the Zap carries on without the enriched data.
- Create X if it doesn't exist yet? This box turns a search into a find-or-create. People Data Labs offers no find-or-create variant on Zapier: both searches only read, they never create a record.
- If multiple search results are found?Three ways out when several items match: keep the first one (the default), stop the Zap, or pass all of them on at once.
When a People Data Labs Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to People Data Labs, so the cases below are the general traps that apply to a search-based Zap.
Most of them come from the search settings or from timing, not from People Data Labs itself. When a run goes wrong and you need a method, the Zapier troubleshooting page walks through it.
No match stops everything
On its default setting, a search that finds nothing ends the run, so the CRM never gets the contact. Switch the setting on if the record should be saved anyway. The wrong profile goes through
When several results match, Zapier keeps the first one by default. If that is a risk for your data, choose to stop the Zap instead.Old leads are never enriched
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Contacts already in your tools stay as they are; enriching them is a separate job.A bulk import gets held back
When the trigger app suddenly returns a huge batch, after an import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold the run back.
