impact.com alternatives: where to move your program and how to leave without breaking it
Seven destinations, one per reason for leaving, and an eight-step migration plan.
The short answer: Rewardful or FirstPromoter if you sell a SaaS subscription billed through Stripe, UpPromote or Refersion if you run a Shopify store, Awin if you still need a publisher network but not an annual contract, Tapfiliate for a simple flat-fee tool, and Post Affiliate Pro if you never want to pay a percentage of sales again. Before you pick, pull up your impact.com order form: your renewal date matters more than the tool. We compared all seven on their official pricing pages in 2026.
The ranking is editorial: a sponsored spot is always labeled on its card, and no affiliate link changes a score.
Why brands leave impact.com, and why it takes a while
Impact does some things very well: a huge partner marketplace, payouts and tax handling that users like, and every partnership type in one place (affiliates, creators, referrals, B2B partners). People rarely leave over tech. They leave over the contract, the bill, and the gap between what a small brand pays for and what it actually uses.
A 12-month contract that restarts when you change plans
Essentials, Pro and Enterprise all require a 12-month contract. Switching plans mid-term doesn't shorten anything: every change is a new 12-month amendment. Upgrade from Essentials to Pro for a busy season and you've just signed up for another full year.
$500 a month before your first sale
Essentials costs $500 a month, so at least $6,000 a year once you factor in the commitment. It's aimed at brands doing up to $2M a year in ecommerce revenue. Pro jumps to $2,500 a month. Onboarding on those plans is billed at $250 an hour. For a program starting with a few dozen affiliates, the bill shows up long before the results.
Starter takes 2.5% of revenue
The entry plan is $30 a month with a 30-day free trial and no setup fee. But it adds 2.5% of revenue, and that cut grows with you: on $20,000 of revenue in a month, that's $500 on top of the subscription. Starter also only works with Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce and the listed platforms, with no add-ons.
Add-ons with no public price
Creator Premium, Advocate Premium, Optimize, AI Search Visibility and Brand Safety are all extra, and none has a published price. If your program depends on one of them, you're negotiating blind. Get every add-on price in writing before you renew.
Contracts people struggle to exit
On the biggest consumer review site, impact.com sits at 1.2 out of 5 across 187 reviews, 93% of them one star. Most come from affiliates, not brands, so read them with that in mind. On the brand side, public complaints keep landing on the same point: cancellation. One advertiser says the only action they got after reporting a breach was having the annual contract's auto-renewal switched off.
Slow support, heavy tool
On B2B software review sites the overall score holds up (4.5 out of 5 on one, 4.2 on another), but value for money drops to 3.8 and support keeps coming up: canned replies, long waits. For a simple program, you end up paying for features you never open. The Shopify app still rates 4.4 out of 5 (203 reviews), yet some merchants complain about discount codes being generated on their store without their say.
You're leaving because… go to…

impact.com alternatives, tool by tool
For each tool: why to move there, who it fits, its catch, how to migrate from impact.com, and what it costs. One distinction first: Awin is a network that brings you publishers; the others are software, where you bring your own affiliates. Prices are the ones each vendor lists in 2026. Our full ranking of affiliate software covers more tools.
If you're on Pro or Enterprise. A large multi-partner program can also look at CJ Affiliate, Partnerize, PartnerStack or Everflow. They price on a quote, so we don't rank them here with no public price to compare, but get a written offer from them well before your Impact renewal.
The tools
Rewardful: the pick for SaaS on Stripe
Best for SaaSWhy move to Rewardful. If your product is a subscription billed through Stripe, Impact is usually far more than you use. Rewardful is a Premier Stripe Partner with two-way sync, so it tracks renewals and recurring commissions without extra plumbing. It takes 0% of your transactions. Podia made this exact move from Impact to Rewardful (a case study the vendor published, so weigh it accordingly).
Who it's for. B2B or B2C SaaS companies that want an affiliate or referral program wired straight into Stripe billing.
Who it's not for. A business that doesn't bill through Stripe: without Stripe billing, the tool loses its point.
The catch. Pricing follows your affiliate revenue. Starter ($49 a month, $490 a year) covers up to $7,500 a month in affiliate revenue, with one campaign and two team members. Growth ($99) goes to $15,000 and adds a white-label portal and custom domain. Enterprise starts at $149. Managed payouts are optional at 3%.
How to migrate. Export your commission history from Impact before you cut it off, and don't count on Rewardful importing that history. Keep the file to settle the last commissions you owe.
- Price
- Starter $49/mo
- Fees
- 0% (managed payouts 3%)
- Best for
- SaaS on Stripe
- Catch
- built around Stripe
UpPromote: the cheapest way out for Shopify stores
Free planWhy move to UpPromote. If you were on Impact's Starter for a Shopify store, UpPromote is the gentlest landing. There's a free plan up to $3,000 in referred value. Growth costs $29.99 a month plus 2%, Professional $89.99 plus 1.5%, and Enterprise $199.99 plus 1%. Annual billing knocks off 17%, and there's a 14-day trial.
Who it's for. Shopify brands that recruit their own customers, creators and ambassadors and want to start small.
Who it's not for. A SaaS company, or a brand that needs a large outside publisher network to find affiliates.
The catch. Every paid plan still takes a percentage, so do the math at your real volume. The percentage drops as the plan goes up: on $20,000 of monthly referred sales, 2% on Growth is $400 while 1% on Enterprise is $200, which more than covers the $170 price gap.
How to migrate. Install the app while Impact is still running, rebuild your commission tiers, and keep the same discount codes for creators wherever you can. A code that's baked into a video keeps selling for months.

Awin: keep a publisher network, skip the annual contract
The networkWhy move to Awin. If Impact's marketplace was the reason you stayed, Awin is the logical next stop. It's a network: publishers already signed up there can join your program without you recruiting them one by one. The self-serve Access plan costs $49 a month plus 3.5% per transaction, with a 3-month minimum, 14 days' notice, and the first month free.
Who it's for. Brands that want publisher reach fast without signing for a year.
Who it's not for. A SaaS company running a private partner program with its own customers: software like Rewardful costs less and keeps you in control.
The catch. Variable cost. The 3.5% grows with volume, and the commission you pay publishers sits on top. Accelerate (from $99 a month plus 2.5%) makes more sense once volume picks up.
How to migrate. List your top 20 Impact publishers, check which ones are already on Awin, and invite them first. Use a separate discount code per network during the switch so you know who drove what.
- Price
- Access $49/mo + 3.5%
- Commitment

- cost scales with volume
Tapfiliate: a flat fee for ecommerce or SaaS
No percentageWhy move to Tapfiliate. A flat subscription, no cut of your sales, no setup fee. Launch is $89 a month ($74 billed annually) and Scale is $179 ($149 annually). You get 14 days to wire everything up.
Who it's for. A store or SaaS that already has its affiliates (customers, creators, partners) and wants a clean tool to track and pay them.
Who it's not for. A brand that relies on a network to find publishers: Tapfiliate has no marketplace comparable to Impact's.
The catch. Caps. Launch stops at 50 affiliates, 5,000 clicks and 500 conversions a month, with one user. Scale goes to 150 affiliates and 10,000 conversions. Beyond that you pay overages (on Launch, $1.50 per 1,000 clicks and $15 per 1,000 conversions) or move to Enterprise on a quote. If you have 300 active affiliates on Impact, run the numbers first.
How to migrate. Tapfiliate publishes migration guides from other tools, but none from Impact. Its own guide puts a full switch at 6 to 8 weeks, which is a good benchmark for timing your Impact notice.
- Price
- Launch $89/mo ($74 annual)
- Trial

- Best for
- affiliates you already have
- Catch
- 50 affiliates on Launch
FirstPromoter: SaaS that wants to keep its history
Stripe import includedWhy move to FirstPromoter. Same ground as Rewardful, with two differences that matter when you leave Impact: importing your Stripe history is included in the migration, and team seats are unlimited on every plan. The 14-day trial needs no credit card.
Who it's for. A SaaS with a partner team of several people, or one that wants past commissions visible in the new tool.
Who it's not for. A brand that needs a publisher network to find affiliates.
The catch. Revenue tiers. Starter ($49 a month) stops at $5,000 in monthly affiliate revenue and 1,000 affiliates. Business ($99) goes to $15,000 with unlimited affiliates, Enterprise ($149) beyond that. Cross the cap and you're moved up a tier automatically, so watch your peak months.
How to migrate. Ask for the Stripe history import on day one, then spot-check three random customers: right affiliate, right commission, right date.
- Price
- Starter $49/mo
- Trial
- 14 days, no card
- Best for
- SaaS partner teams
- Catch
- automatic tier upgrades
Refersion: Shopify Plus and multi-store brands
Unlimited affiliatesWhy move to Refersion. It does the Shopify affiliate job without the heavy contract, and it scales into multi-store setups. Launch is $39 a month ($29 billed annually) plus 3% of affiliate sales, with unlimited affiliates, clicks and conversions. Listing your program on its marketplace is free.
Who it's for. Shopify and Shopify Plus brands, including those running several stores on the Growth plan.
Who it's not for. A SaaS company, or a small store that wants a free plan to start: UpPromote fits that better.
The catch. The percentage again: 3% on Launch, 2% on Growth ($199 a month, $159 annually), which adds the API, 30+ integrations and multi-store. Launch offers one-click payouts, including PayPal. Multi-store starts on Growth. No free trial is listed on the pricing page.
How to migrate. Set up Growth if you need the API to sync with your other systems, then import your affiliate list and send each partner their new link.
- Price
- Launch $39/mo + 3%
- Affiliates
- unlimited
- Best for
- Shopify Plus, multi-store
- Catch
- no free trial listed
Post Affiliate Pro: fixed price, zero percentage
Predictable costWhy move to Post Affiliate Pro. It's the most direct answer to "Impact takes a cut of my sales": here, no cut at all. Starter is $89 a month ($79 annually), Pro is $139 ($129), with unlimited affiliates and setup included. The trial runs 30 days.
Who it's for. Brands with large affiliate sales volumes that want a bill that doesn't move, and a team ready to learn a feature-rich tool.
Who it's not for. A small team with no one to configure it: it takes longer to learn than Rewardful or UpPromote.
The catch. Tracking volume. Starter caps at 10,000 tracking requests a month and one campaign, which goes fast with real traffic. Pro goes to 1,000,000 requests and unlimited campaigns. Ultimate ($269) and Network ($649) sit above. On Starter, included setup is capped at 2 hours.
How to migrate. Start on Pro if your Impact program runs several campaigns. On Starter you'd have to merge them into one.
- Price
- Pro $139/mo ($129 annual)
- Fees
- no % of sales
- Best for
- high volume, flat cost
- Catch
- 10,000 requests on Starter
Impact and its 7 alternatives side by side
Our default picks: Rewardful for SaaS on Stripe, UpPromote for a Shopify store, Awin if you need publishers. For a sense of scale over one year: Impact Essentials costs at least $6,000 with the commitment, before onboarding hours. Tapfiliate Launch billed annually is $888, Rewardful Starter $490. One row per tool: entry price and extra fees on the left, commitment and fit on the right.
| Entry price and fees | Commitment and fit | |

Leave impact.com in eight steps
Order matters. Each step protects something: your contract, your partners, their commissions, and the sales still coming through old links. impact.com doesn't publish an exit procedure, so this plan pulls together the migration best practices that agencies and tool vendors have published.
The steps
Read your contract before anything else
FirstOpen your impact.com order form and write down three things: the end date of the 12-month term, the notice period to stop renewal, and the termination clause. If you changed plans mid-term, find the amendment: it restarted a 12-month commitment.
Then send your non-renewal notice in writing. You can still stay longer if you want, but auto-renewal won't catch you off guard.
- Time
- one hour
- Risk if rushed
- another paid year
Export partners, links and commissions
Week 1Export your full partner list with contact details, commission rates, discount codes and links. Export your commission and payout history too.
Most new tools won't pull in Impact's history. This file is how you settle the last commissions, answer disputes, and set rates in the new tool.
- Time
- half a day
- Risk if rushed
- commission disputes
Rank partners by who actually sells
Week 1Sort partners by sales over the last six months. A small handful usually drives most of the revenue. Those are the people you call first and watch closely during the switch.
Inactive partners don't need a campaign. One clear email with the new sign-up link is enough.
- Time
- two hours
- Risk if rushed
- losing a top affiliate
Install the new tracking and test it
Week 2Open the new account, install its tracking (script, Shopify app, Stripe connection) and rebuild your commission rates. Place a real test order through a test affiliate link and check that it shows up with the right amount.
Leave Impact's tracking alone for now. Both run side by side at this stage. To connect the new tool to your CRM or billing, ready-made connectors exist, such as Tapfiliate with Zapier or FirstPromoter with Make.
- Time
- one to three days
- Risk if rushed
- untracked sales
Tell partners, top sellers first
Weeks 2 to 3Call or personally email your best partners. Give them the date, the sign-up link and ready-to-paste new links. Keep the same commission rates: changing tool and rates at once is how you lose affiliates.
Everyone else gets a clear email with the date old links stop counting.
- Time
- one week
- Risk if rushed
- partners dropping off
Run both tools in parallel
Weeks 3 to 6Don't remove Impact's tracking until most partners have confirmed they've switched links. Old links live on in articles, videos and newsletters, and they keep bringing sales.
Plan for several weeks. One tool vendor puts a full transition at 6 to 8 weeks, so time your Impact notice around that.
- Time
- 4 to 6 weeks
- Risk if rushed
- lost sales
Settle the commissions you owe on Impact
End of termBefore the contract ends, approve and pay every pending commission on Impact. An affiliate who doesn't get paid for their last month talks about it in affiliate groups, and that word of mouth sticks.
Download every report you might need. Once the account closes, they're gone.
- Time
- half a day
- Risk if rushed
- your name among affiliates
Remove old tracking and clean up links
Final weekRemove the Impact script from your site, uninstall the app from your store, and map old discount codes to new ones where you can. Check that your own pages (partner page, program terms) point to the new tool.
A month later, compare affiliate sales with the period before. A sharp drop usually means a big partner slipped through.
- Time
- one day
- Risk if rushed
- double payouts

What makes an Impact exit go wrong
The same mistakes show up every time a brand leaves an affiliate platform. None is technical. They're oversights, and each costs more than the time it would have taken to avoid it.
Downgrading to "ride it out"
Dropping from Pro to Essentials to save money during the switch sounds smart. It backfires: at impact.com, every plan change signs a new 12-month amendment. Keep your plan and leave at the end of the term.
Buying software when you need a network
If half your sales come from publishers you found on Impact's marketplace, software like Tapfiliate or Rewardful won't bring them back. You need a network (Awin) or a plan that includes recruiting.
Comparing subscriptions, not total cost
A low subscription plus 3% of sales can cost more than a higher flat fee. Run it on your real monthly affiliate revenue: subscription, plus percentage, plus affiliate commissions, plus payout fees.
Killing old tracking too early
Links in a blog post or video live for months. Removing Impact's tracking the day the new tool works means losing every sale that still flows through them.
Forgetting the new tool's caps
50 affiliates on Tapfiliate Launch, $5,000 affiliate revenue on FirstPromoter Starter, 10,000 requests on Post Affiliate Pro Starter: a program coming off Impact often blows past these in month one.
Leaving commissions unpaid
An affiliate who wasn't paid for their last month on Impact won't join your new program. Settle everything before the account closes.
- End date, notice period and termination clause noted from the order form
- Non-renewal sent in writing
- Partners, links, discount codes and commissions exported
- Partners ranked by sales over the last six months
- New tracking installed and test order confirmed
- Top partners told personally, same rates
- Both tools running in parallel for several weeks
- Commissions owed on Impact paid out
- Reports downloaded before the account closes
- Old script removed and partner pages updated
impact.com alternatives: frequently asked questions
How much does impact.com cost?
From $30 to $2,500 a month depending on the plan, with Enterprise on a quote. Starter is $30 a month plus 2.5% of revenue, Essentials $500 a month and Pro $2,500 a month, with a 12-month contract on both. Onboarding is billed at $250 an hour on Essentials, Pro and Enterprise. Add-ons such as Creator Premium or Brand Safety have no published price, so get them quoted in writing before you sign.
Can I cancel impact.com early?
Not easily. Essentials, Pro and Enterprise lock you in for 12 months, and impact.com publishes no early-exit procedure. Check the termination clause in your order form and send your non-renewal notice in writing now. The pricing page sets no commitment length for Starter, so get it in writing before you sign up.
What is cheaper than impact.com for Shopify?
UpPromote, by a wide margin. Its free plan covers up to $3,000 in referred value, and Growth is $29.99 a month plus 2%. Refersion starts at $39 a month plus 3% with unlimited affiliates. Compare that with Impact Essentials at $500 a month on a 12-month contract. If you're rethinking the store itself too, see our guide to switching from Shopify.
Is PartnerStack better than impact.com for SaaS?
It depends on your partners. PartnerStack is built for B2B SaaS reseller and referral programs, but it publishes no prices, so you only learn the cost in a demo. If you bill through Stripe and want a public price, Rewardful and FirstPromoter both start at $49 a month. Our ranking of SaaS affiliate software covers the full field.
Does impact.com take a percentage of my sales?
On Starter, yes. On the plans above, no. Starter adds 2.5% of revenue to its $30 monthly fee. Essentials and Pro are flat monthly fees that include a volume of partner payouts ($2,500 a month on Essentials, which the pricing page calls a cap in one place and a minimum in another, so get it clarified in writing; up to $14,300 on Pro). If you want to drop the percentage, Tapfiliate, Rewardful, FirstPromoter and Post Affiliate Pro take none.
Do my affiliates have to change their links?
Yes, almost always. Each tool has its own tracking, so Impact links stop counting once the script is gone. Give every partner ready-to-paste links, and keep the same discount codes where the new tool allows it: a code mentioned in a video keeps selling for a long time.
Affiliate network or affiliate software: what's the difference?
A network brings you publishers; software tracks the ones you bring. Awin is a network: publishers already signed up can join your program, and you pay a percentage per transaction. Rewardful, UpPromote or Tapfiliate are software: cheaper, but you do the recruiting. Impact does both, which is why it costs what it does. Our comparison of affiliate software sorts them by type.
How long does it take to move off impact.com?
Plan for about two months. Setting up the new tracking takes a few days, but partners need time to swap links, and old links keep selling for weeks. One tool vendor puts a full transition at 6 to 8 weeks. Start the move at least that long before your renewal date so you never pay for both tools longer than you have to.
