Overview

What the InforUMobile Zapier integration actually does

InforUMobile is a multichannel marketing tool: SMS, email newsletters, landing pages and surveys. Zapier links it to your other apps through a Zap, an automation built from one trigger (the event that starts it) and one or more actions (what it does next). Here the actions far outnumber the triggers: 12 against 2.

Three results worth building first. A lead that hears from you at once: New Lead From Landing Page fires on each form sent, and Send SMS answers within the same run. A tidy audience: Add Contact to Group drops contacts from your other tools into the right distribution group, ready for the next campaign. A journey started from elsewhere: Start Automation launches an automation you already built in InforUMobile.

Now the limits. Only two events can start a Zap from InforUMobile: a new lead and an unsubscribe. There is no search step, so a Zap cannot look up a contact or a campaign before acting. Several send actions only reuse what exists already, such as a campaign ID, a WhatsApp template or an automation event name. And skipping the unsubscribe check is not a box you tick alone: it goes through InforUMobile support.

The InforUMobile Make integration covers the same app on Make if you want to compare, and the Zapier training is there if you want to learn the tool itself.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Seven words you will meet on every line below, in plain English.

Zap
Your automation on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is switched on, Zapier waits for it.
Action
What the Zap does after it starts: the step that sends a text, adds a contact to a group or launches a campaign.
Task
What Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Your plan is a count of these tasks.
Instant vs polling trigger
An instant trigger is reported by the app the moment it happens. A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. InforUMobile's two are instant.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when the data that arrived meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and that needs a paid plan.
Cost

What an InforUMobile Zap really costs on Zapier

The trigger costs nothing. Every action that goes through counts as one task.

  • Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps
  • Free plan Zap sizeTwo steps: one trigger, one action
  • InforUMobile on freeYes, it is not a premium app
  • Trigger speedInstant on both triggers, whatever the plan

A Zap that adds a lead to a group and then texts them uses two tasks per lead. An action that fails is not counted, and listening for new leads is free. InforUMobile is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan, but that plan builds two-step Zaps only: one trigger, one action. Both triggers are instant, so on any plan a new lead starts the Zap as soon as the form is sent; the plan only changes how many steps and tasks you get.

Connect

Connect InforUMobile to Zapier in 3 steps

  1. 01

    Open your apps

In Zapier, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. A connection is your InforUMobile account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Zap that needs it.

  2. 02

    Find InforUMobile

Search for InforUMobile in the dialog, select it and click Add connection. Zapier opens a new tab where InforUMobile asks you to sign in to your account.

  3. 03

    Sign in and allow access

Log in to the InforUMobile account that holds your groups, campaigns and landing pages, then grant Zapier access. You need read or write rights on anything you do not own but want a Zap to use.

First Zap

Your first Zap: new lead, right group, welcome text

GoalA gym running an open-day landing page wants every sign-up added to its prospects group and texted a confirmation.

  1. 01

    Build: set the trigger

Create a Zap, pick InforUMobile and the New Lead From Landing Page event, then connect your account if it is not done yet.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent leads of the account, so you map the next steps on a real sign-up rather than on empty fields.

  3. 03

Add the contact to a group

Add Add Contact to Group and choose the distribution group for open-day prospects, then map the contact details from the lead.

  4. 04

    Send the text

Add Send SMS. Fill in the sender, map the phone number from the lead and write the message. This second action makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.

  5. 05

    Test, then Publish

Test each action once, with your own number if you can. When the text arrives as expected, click Publish. Every lead then costs two tasks.

Triggers

InforUMobile triggers: the 2 events that start a Zap

2 events start a Zap when something happens in InforUMobile, and 2 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

New Lead From Landing Page

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a customer submits a leads from on a landing page, survey,or registration form.”

Fires each time someone submits a lead on one of your InforUMobile landing pages, surveys or registration forms, so the follow-up never waits for a manual export.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
a dental clinic wants each appointment request from its landing page pushed into its booking tool at once.
Watch out
leads that arrived before you published the Zap are not picked up; only new submissions start it.
2

Contact Unsubscribe

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when the contact unsubscribes.”

Starts the Zap when a contact unsubscribes in InforUMobile, which is the cue to stop writing to them everywhere else too.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
a retailer wants an unsubscribe in InforUMobile to flag the customer as do-not-contact in its CRM.
Watch out
never pair it with Unsubscribe Contact on the same account, or the Zap can keep setting itself off.
Actions

InforUMobile actions: what a Zap can do for you

InforUMobile gives you 12 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Add Contact to Group

Action

In Zapier“Associates a new or existing contact to a designated distribution group.”

Puts a contact, new or already known, into the distribution group you choose, so it is ready for your next campaign.

When to use it
buyers from your online shop join the loyal customers group without a CSV import.
Watch out
the group must exist in InforUMobile before the Zap can pick it.
2

Remove Contact From Group

Action

In Zapier“Remove an existing contact from a distribution group.”

Takes an existing contact out of one distribution group, the one you name in the step.

When to use it
a customer who renews leaves the expiring subscriptions group automatically.
Watch out
the group is required; to clear several groups, add one step per group.
3

Unsubscribe Contact

Action

In Zapier“Adds a device (email/phone number) to the blacklist”

Adds an email address or a phone number to the InforUMobile blacklist, so your campaigns stop reaching it.

When to use it
someone opts out in your shop or helpdesk and should stop getting your texts too.
Watch out
on the account a Contact Unsubscribe Zap watches, this action can set that Zap off in turn.
4

Reactivate Unsubscribe

Action

In Zapier“Removes a device (email/phone number) from the blacklist, the devicewill be therefore reinstated”

Removes an email address or a phone number from the blacklist, so the contact can receive your messages again.

When to use it
a former subscriber ticks the consent box again on your website form.
Watch out
only run it on a real, fresh opt-in, never as a bulk clean-up.
5

Create and Send Newsletter

Action

In Zapier“Creates and sends a new newsletter”

Builds a new email newsletter and sends it in one step, from the campaign name to the body.

When to use it
a short update has to go out each time a new event is published in your calendar tool.
Watch out
campaign name, sender address, reply address, sender name, subject, body and recipient email are all required.
6

Send IVR Campaign

Action

In Zapier“Sends an existing voice campaign.”

Sends a voice campaign that already exists in InforUMobile to the phone number you map, using its campaign ID.

When to use it
reuse an existing voice campaign for each new contact without rebuilding it.
Watch out
the Duplicate option creates a new campaign from the one you name, so you can end up with many copies.
7

Send IVR Message

Action

In Zapier“Sends a text-to-speech voice message.”

Turns the text you write into a voice message for one phone number, spoken through text-to-speech, so nobody has to record anything.

When to use it
an appointment reminder delivered as a phone call rather than as a text.
Watch out
the text to read and the phone number are required on every run.
8

Send Newsletter Campaign

Action

In Zapier“Send an existing Newsletter”

Sends a newsletter you already designed in InforUMobile, picked by its campaign ID, to the email you pass from earlier steps.

When to use it
a new subscriber elsewhere receives your standard welcome newsletter.
Watch out
the Allow Duplicates option sends as many copies as a recipient appears in one call, so leave it off unless you mean it.
9

Send SMS

Action

In Zapier“Sends an SMS text to recipient.”

Sends a text message to one phone number, with the sender and the wording you set in the step.

When to use it
confirm a booking or a sign-up the second it comes in.
Watch out
message, phone and sender are required; an option lets the text skip the sending hours limit set in your account.
10

Send SMS Voice Hybrid

Action

In Zapier“Send SMS Voice Hybrid”

Sends a message in InforUMobile's SMS Voice Hybrid format, the one entry of the list that mixes the text and voice channels by name.

When to use it
a reminder that matters enough to justify more than a plain text.
Watch out
Zapier documents little about this action beyond its sending-time and unsubscribe options, so test it on your own number first.
11

Send Whatsapp Template Message

Action

In Zapier“Sends a Whatsapp message from template.”

Sends a WhatsApp message built from one of your InforUMobile templates, chosen by its template ID.

When to use it
an order confirmation sent through WhatsApp instead of by email.
Watch out
template ID and send type are required, and the purchase tracking option is billed extra by InforUMobile.
12

Start Automation

Action

In Zapier“Starts an existing automation process.”

Launches an automation process you already built in InforUMobile, so the journey runs there rather than step by step in Zapier.

When to use it
a trial sign-up in your app starts the onboarding sequence you designed in InforUMobile.
Watch out
the step asks for the API event name of the automation, so set that event up first.
When it breaks

When an InforUMobile Zap breaks

Zapier links no InforUMobile help article and lists no app-specific limit, so these are the general traps applied to this app.

Trouble comes from what a Zap does not see, or from a Zap that reacts to its own work. When a run fails, start with the Zapier troubleshooting page.

  • Past leads stay where they are

A Zap only reacts to leads and unsubscribes that happen after you publish it. Older ones are never picked up; moving them is a separate job.
  • The unsubscribe loop

Contact Unsubscribe as trigger and Unsubscribe Contact as action on the same account: the Zap can set itself off again and again and drain your tasks.
  • A campaign blast stalls

If a trigger suddenly sends a huge batch, after a big import for instance, Zapier's flood protection can hold the runs back.
  • A missing ID or sender

Campaign ID, template ID, sender or automation event name must exist in InforUMobile. If one was renamed or deleted, the action has nothing to send.

FAQ

InforUMobile Zapier integration: common questions

01Is the InforUMobile Zapier integration free?
Yes, on the Zapier side you can use it on the free plan, because InforUMobile is not a premium app. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but each Zap is limited to two steps: one trigger and one action. A Zap that adds a lead to a group and then texts them already has two actions, so it is multi-step and needs a paid plan. Start with a single action if you want to test for free.
02How many tasks does an InforUMobile Zap use?
One task for each action that completes, and none for the trigger. A Zap that sends a WhatsApp template to each new lead uses one task per lead. Add a group step and an automation start, and it becomes three tasks per lead. Failed actions are not billed, and Zapier waiting for new leads or unsubscribes costs nothing. Keep the unsubscribe loop in mind, since a Zap that triggers itself can empty a month of tasks quickly.
03Do InforUMobile triggers run in real time?
Yes. Both InforUMobile triggers are instant: the app tells Zapier as soon as a lead submits a form or a contact unsubscribes. The plan intervals used for polling triggers, 15 minutes on the free plan, do not apply to them. In the editor, a Zap built on an instant trigger shows a lightning bolt. That speed is what makes a welcome text or a WhatsApp confirmation feel immediate to the person who just signed up.
04What does it take to connect InforUMobile to Zapier?
An InforUMobile account, plus read or write access on anything you do not own but want a Zap to use. You add the connection once from the Apps page with + Add connection, sign in to InforUMobile in the tab that opens, and every Zap reuses it. Before building, prepare what the actions will ask for: a sender, the campaign IDs, the WhatsApp template IDs and the API event names of your automations.
05Can a Zap skip the InforUMobile unsubscribe check?
Not on your own. Several send actions have an Ignore Unsubscribe Check option, but InforUMobile states you must contact its customer support to use it. Without that, people on the blacklist stay out of reach, which is usually what you want. The separate Ignore Possible Sending Time option is different: it lets a message go out despite the sending hours limit set in your account. Use it carefully, for urgent messages only.
06What if the InforUMobile operation you need does not exist?
Then the integration does not offer it today. Zapier shows 2 triggers and 12 actions for InforUMobile and no search step, so a Zap cannot look up a contact or a campaign before acting. You can often get close by sending to an existing campaign or by starting an automation you built in InforUMobile itself. Check the operation list before you design the Zap, rather than after you have built half of it.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for InforUMobile?
It depends on your criteria, not on a winner. Compare three things: which InforUMobile operations each tool offers, how it bills the volume of leads and messages you expect, and how many steps your flow really needs. On Zapier, both triggers are instant even on the free plan, but any Zap beyond two steps needs a paid plan. Run the same check on the other two tools, using their own operation lists, before you choose.
