What the LeadDriver Zapier integration is for
LeadDriver is a lead management tool for car dealerships: it sends each enquiry to the department that should handle it. On Zapier, you build a Zap (an automation that waits for an event in one app, then runs steps in others) that pushes enquiries into LeadDriver from wherever they arrive.
Three results come out of that one action. Website enquiries in one place: a form on the dealer site feeds Create Lead with Enquiry Type VEHICLE, so a car request lands in LeadDriver instead of an inbox. Test drives booked straight in: the same action with Enquiry Type APPOINTMENT turns a booking request into a lead for the right team. Every channel labelled: the Enquiry Source field records where the lead came from (Dealer Website, Marketplace, Social Media, Phone), so you can see which channel brings what.
What Zapier does not do here is just as clear. LeadDriver has no trigger, so nothing that happens inside LeadDriver can start a Zap: you cannot send a new lead out to another tool. There is no search either, so a Zap cannot check whether a customer already exists before creating the lead. The flow runs one way only, into LeadDriver. If you need both directions, the Make vs Zapier and n8n vs Zapier comparisons help you weigh other tools.
Zapier words in one minute
Seven terms come back on this page. Here they are in plain words.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time that trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. LeadDriver has none, so another app always plays this role.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: here, Create Lead writes a new enquiry into LeadDriver for you.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completed successfully; your plan counts those.
- Instant vs polling
- An instant trigger is reported by its app the moment it happens. A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it quietly otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What a LeadDriver Zap really costs
Zapier bills tasks, and only a successful action produces one. LeadDriver is not a premium app, so it runs on the free plan.
- Trigger (other app)0 tasks
- Each lead created1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps only
- LeadDriver premium? No, available on the free plan
Each lead created by Create Lead costs one task; a failed attempt costs nothing. The trigger, which lives in your other app, never costs a task either. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and Zaps of two steps, one trigger and one action, which fits the basic form to LeadDriver flow exactly. Add a filter to keep only some enquiries, or a second action, and you need a paid plan. How fast a lead arrives depends on the trigger of the other app: if it polls, the grid below applies.
Connect LeadDriver to Zapier in 3 steps
- 01
Open your connections
In Zapier, open the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A connection is your LeadDriver account linked once, then reused by every Zap that writes to it. You need a LeadDriver account first.
- 02
Pick LeadDriver
Search for LeadDriver in the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new browser tab opens on the LeadDriver side, which is where you actually sign in.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Log in to LeadDriver in that tab and let Zapier reach the account. If the leads should go to departments you do not manage yourself, check that your account has write access to them first.
Your first LeadDriver Zap
GoalTurn each website enquiry into a LeadDriver lead and keep a copy in a spreadsheet.
- 01
Start from the form
Create a Zap and pick your form tool as the trigger app, with its new submission event. LeadDriver has no trigger, so the Zap always starts in the tool where the enquiry first lands.
- 02
Test with a real enquiry
Test the trigger. Zapier brings back the three most recent submissions of that account, so you can map the next step on a real enquiry instead of invented data.
- 03
Add Create Lead
Add a LeadDriver step with Create Lead. Paste your Seller Identifier, choose the Enquiry Type, set the Enquiry Source, and map the Customer First Name from the form.
- 04
Keep a copy
Add a spreadsheet step that writes the same enquiry as a new row. This second action makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan; skip it to stay on the free one.
- 05
Test and publish
Run each step once and check the new lead in LeadDriver, then publish to switch the Zap on. Only enquiries sent after that moment go through it.
LeadDriver actions on Zapier
LeadDriver gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Create Lead
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a new lead. Each request represents one enquiry such as a vehicle enquiry, finance enquiry, valuation, service request, appointment, trade-in offer, or general enquiry.”
Opens a new enquiry in LeadDriver for the department you name, whatever its kind: a vehicle, finance, a valuation, a service request, an appointment, a trade-in offer or a general question.
When a LeadDriver Zap breaks
Zapier links no help article to LeadDriver and no app-specific limit is documented. What breaks is what breaks on any Zap that feeds an app from outside.
Check these four cases before you publish. If a Zap already misbehaves, the Zapier troubleshooting guide takes you through the checks in order.
Old enquiries stay behind
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Enquiries already sitting in your form tool are not sent to LeadDriver; moving them is a separate job.A required field arrives empty
Create Lead needs its four required fields on every run. A form where the first name is optional will sooner or later send a blank one and stop the step.A bulk import gets held back
Import hundreds of contacts into the source app at once and its trigger returns a huge batch. Zapier's flood protection can hold those runs back.Duplicates on polling
On a polling trigger, Zapier remembers what it has already seen, so one enquiry does not create two leads.
