Leap CRM Zapier integrationAutomate Leap CRM with Zapier.
The Leap CRM Zapier integration gives you 2 triggers and 4 actions, with no search step. Both triggers are checked on a timer, it runs on the free plan, and the actions create customers and leads, update leads and add documents. Here is what each does and where it breaks.

What the Leap CRM Zapier integration actually does
Leap CRM is a tool built for roofers and remodelers to win and run more jobs. Zapier connects it to your other apps through Zaps: automations that start with a trigger (an event, such as a new lead in Leap CRM) and continue with actions (what the Zap then does for you, such as creating a customer). No code involved.
Three results worth building first. A team that hears about every new lead: New Lead picks up each lead and the Zap posts it where your crew already talks. Leads that enter Leap CRM on their own: Create Lead turns an entry from another tool into a lead, and Update Lead keeps it current. A customer list kept in step: New Customer sends each new customer to a spreadsheet or another app, and Create Customer works the other way round.
What Zapier does not do here. Neither trigger is instant: both are polling triggers, so Zapier checks Leap CRM on a timer and a new lead waits for the next check. There is no search step, so a Zap cannot look up an existing customer or lead before writing, and duplicates are on you to prevent. Nothing deletes a record, and there is no trigger for updates, only for new customers and new leads.
If the timer or the missing lookups are a problem for your flow, read the n8n vs Zapier comparison before you build.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Seven words carry this page. Plain definitions first.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event that starts the Zap. With Leap CRM, that is a new customer or a new lead showing up in your account.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it starts: the step that writes something for you, like creating a lead in Leap CRM.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completed successfully. Your plan gives you a fixed number each month.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked on a timer for new items; an instant one is pushed by the app. Both Leap CRM triggers poll.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming data meets the condition you set, and stops it quietly otherwise.
- Connection
- Your Leap CRM account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step of every Zap that talks to Leap CRM.
What a Leap CRM Zap really costs
Zapier bills tasks, not Zaps. The trigger is free, and so is every check Zapier runs on Leap CRM, however often it happens.
- Trigger checksFree, however often
- Each successful action1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- Premium appNo
Each action that completes counts as one task; a failed one does not. A Zap with three actions eats three times more than a one-action Zap. Leap CRM is not a premium app, so it runs on the free plan: 100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps, a check every 15 minutes. The catch is that free Zaps are two steps only, one trigger and one action. Add a filter, a second action or a search, and it becomes a multi-step Zap that needs a paid plan. If you would rather be guided through your first Zaps, there is also a Zapier training.
Connect your Leap CRM account to Zapier
- 01
Open the Apps page
In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. You need a Leap CRM account, plus access to any records you do not own that the Zap should read or write.
- 02
Select Leap CRM
Type Leap CRM in the dialog's search box, pick it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the Leap CRM side so you can sign in with your account.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Log in to Leap CRM in that tab and allow Zapier to use the account. The connection is stored once, and every Zap that uses Leap CRM afterwards picks it up.
Your first Leap CRM Zap, step by step
GoalPost every new Leap CRM lead to your team chat, but only the leads that pass your filter.
- 01
Pick the Leap CRM trigger
Create a new Zap, choose Leap CRM as the app and
New Leadas the event. Then select the Leap CRM connection you set up earlier. - 02
Test it on a real lead
Run the trigger test. Zapier brings back the three most recent leads of your account, so the next steps are mapped on a real one.
- 03
Add the filter
From the plus icon, add Filter. Set the field to check, the rule and the value. Use a text rule on text and a number rule on numbers, or it never passes.
- 04
Add the chat step
Add your team chat tool and its send-message action. Write the message with the lead details coming from Leap CRM, so the right person knows who to call back.
- 05
Test, then publish
Test the last step, check that the message arrives, then click Publish. The filter makes this a three-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan.
Leap CRM triggers on Zapier
2 events start a Zap when something happens in Leap CRM. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
New Customer
Polling triggerIn Zapier“New Customer from jobprogress”
Starts your Zap whenever a new customer appears in Leap CRM. That makes it the natural entry point for anything that should happen once per customer: a row in a shared sheet, a welcome email from another tool, a note for the office.
New Lead
Polling triggerIn Zapier“New Lead from JobProgress”
Fires on every new lead in Leap CRM. For a roofing or remodeling business, a lead is the first sign of a future job, so this is the trigger that gets the fastest reaction from your team.
Leap CRM actions on Zapier
Leap CRM gives you 4 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Add Document
ActionIn Zapier“This action will add the documents”
Adds documents to Leap CRM from an earlier step of the Zap. The only required field is the Documents List, which you fill with what the trigger brought in.
Create Customer
ActionIn Zapier“Create a Customer in jobprogress”
Creates a customer record in Leap CRM. Four fields are required: ID, First Name, Phone and Email, so the trigger app must provide all of them.
Create Lead
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a Lead on the APP”
Turns incoming data into a new lead in Leap CRM. It requires a Lead Id, a First Name and an Email.
Update Lead
ActionIn Zapier“Update a Lead which is already created”
Changes a lead that already exists in Leap CRM. Like Create Lead, it needs the Lead Id, the First Name and the Email.
When a Leap CRM Zap breaks
Zapier links no help article to Leap CRM, so the failures below are the general Zapier limits, applied to how this app works.
Here are the four situations to check on a Leap CRM Zap, ideally before you publish rather than after the first surprise. For problems that are not specific to Leap CRM, see the Zapier troubleshooting guide.
Existing records are skipped
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Customers and leads already in Leap CRM are never picked up; moving that backlog is a separate job.A Zap that feeds itself
New Lead feeding Create Lead, or New Customer feeding Create Customer, writes into the place the trigger watches. The Zap restarts again and again and drains your tasks.Bulk imports get held back
When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after an import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back instead of running every item.No double runs on old items
Zapier remembers what it has already seen on a polling trigger, so the same lead or customer never starts the Zap twice, even if it is edited later.
