Niceboard Zapier integrationAutomate Niceboard with Zapier.
The Niceboard Zapier integration gives you 6 triggers and 7 actions. The triggers watch your job board for new applications, employers, jobs, job alerts, job seekers and sales; the actions add jobs, companies, job seekers and the categories that sort them.

What the Niceboard Zapier integration is for
Niceboard is software for running a job board. Zapier connects it to your other tools through a Zap: an automation that starts on one event, then runs one or more steps for you. On Niceboard, the events are what happens on your board, and the steps can feed the board from outside.
Applications nobody misses. New Application picks up each new direct job application. Routed to a team chat, it puts every application in front of the people who handle them without anyone refreshing the board.
A sales log outside the board. New Sale starts a Zap when a sale is processed. One spreadsheet row per sale gives you a running record you can share without opening Niceboard.
Jobs posted from where they are written. Create Job adds a job with a title, a description, its remote settings and a choice to publish it or not. A job drafted in another tool can reach the board in one step.
What Zapier does not do here. All six triggers are polling ones, so nothing reaches Zapier the moment it happens; your plan sets the delay. There is no search step and no action that edits or removes a job, a company or a job seeker. If you are weighing platforms, see our n8n vs Zapier comparison, or our Make vs Zapier comparison.
Zapier vocabulary, in one minute
Seven terms come back across this page. Here they are in plain English.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it, and nothing runs before it.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or creates something for you in an app.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action that completes successfully. Your plan counts those, and nothing else.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked by Zapier at a fixed interval. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself when the event happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What Niceboard costs you in Zapier tasks
Niceboard is not a premium app, so it works from the free plan. The bill is counted in tasks, and only completed actions count.
- Trigger and checksno task
- Successful action1 task each
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- Premium appno
The trigger never costs a task, and neither do the checks Zapier runs to find new items on your board. Each action that goes through costs one task; an action that fails is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each limited to two steps. A filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. All six Niceboard triggers are polling ones, so the grid below sets how often they check.
Connect your Niceboard account to Zapier
- 01
Open the Apps page
In your Zapier account, open Apps and click + Add connection. A connection is your Niceboard account linked once, then reused by every step that uses Niceboard.
- 02
Pick Niceboard and sign in
Search for Niceboard by name in the dialog, pick it, then click Add connection. A tab opens on Niceboard: sign in with the account of the board the Zap should work with.
- 03
Grant access
Allow Zapier to use that account on the last screen. You need a Niceboard account, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.
Your first Niceboard Zap, step by step
GoalLog every Niceboard sale in a spreadsheet, then tell your team in chat.
- 01
Create the Zap
Start a new Zap and pick Niceboard as the app that starts it. Choose
New Saleas the event, then select your Niceboard connection. - 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items of the connected account, so you map fields from a real sale and not a guess.
- 03
Add the spreadsheet row
Add your spreadsheet as the first action and place the values the test showed into the columns you want to keep for each sale.
- 04
Add the chat message
Add a second action that posts to your team chat. It makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan; without it, the Zap fits the free plan.
- 05
Test, then publish
Test each action once and read what came back. When both look right, publish the Zap to switch it on. For a guided pass, see our Zapier training.
Niceboard triggers
6 events start a Zap when something happens in Niceboard. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
New Application
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new direct job application is created.”
Starts a Zap for each new direct job application on your board. It is the trigger to build on when applications should land somewhere your team already looks, without anyone checking Niceboard by hand.
New Employer
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new employer account is created.”
Fires when a new employer account is created on the board. Each new employer can open a follow-up in another tool, from a welcome email to a row in a list of accounts.
New Job
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new job is posted.”
Reacts each time a new job is posted on your board. It turns every new posting into a run of your Zap, which is how a job can be announced or filed elsewhere.
New Job Alert
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new job alert is created.”
Fires when someone creates a new job alert on the board. A job alert is a subscription, so this trigger tells you who just asked to hear about new jobs.
New Job Seeker
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new job seeker account is created.”
Each new job seeker account created on the board sets this one off. It is the job seeker side of New Employer, and the natural start for anything you do when a candidate signs up.
New Sale
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new sale is processed.”
Money comes in here: this trigger reacts when a new sale is processed on your board. It is the only trigger of the app that tracks sales rather than people or jobs, which makes it the base for any sales record.
Niceboard actions
Niceboard gives you 7 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Create Category
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a new category”
Adds a category to sort the jobs on your board. Name is the only required field, so this is a light step.
Create Company
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a new company”
Creates a company on the board. Name, Verified and Anonymity Enabled are required. Verified companies get a small badge, and an anonymous company cannot be viewed by users.
Create Job
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a new job”
Adds a job to your board. Title, Remote OK, Description and Publish Job are required; Publish Job decides whether the job goes live or not.
Create Job Alert
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a new job alert”
Subscribes someone to a job alert. Email, the address of the subscriber, is the only required field, and Remote is optional.
Create Job Seeker
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a new job seeker”
Gives a candidate a job seeker account on the board. First Name, Last Name, Full Address and Email are required; visibility, remote and work-status settings are optional.
Create Jobtype
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a new jobtype”
Adds a jobtype to your board, and Name is the only field it requires.
Create Secondary Category
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a new secondary category”
Works like Create Category, one level down: it adds a secondary category, again with Name as the only required field.
When a Niceboard Zap breaks
Zapier links no help article to Niceboard, so the cases below are the general Zapier limits that apply to it.
Each case comes with a plain cause and a plain way out. If a Zap still misbehaves, open our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
Older items never come through
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Applications, jobs or sales from before are not picked up; moving that backlog is a separate job.The Zap keeps restarting itself
As a general precaution, a Zap that writes into the place its own trigger watches can set itself off again and again, and burn through your tasks.A big batch is held back
When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those runs back. The same item shows up once
Zapier keeps track of what it has already seen on a polling trigger, so the same item does not start the Zap twice.
