What the NoviHome Zapier integration does for a home builder
NoviHome keeps home buyers engaged from first contact to handover, with chat, documents, photos and videos shared in one portal. Zapier is a tool that links apps together without code. Connected, each thing a buyer or your team adds in NoviHome can start work elsewhere, and your CRM can register buyers in NoviHome for you.
Leads that reach sales on their own. Customer Created and Customer Updated send each lead and each change to your CRM, so the sales team never works from a stale list.
Buyer messages nobody misses. Chat Message Created forwards each new chat to the channel or inbox your team actually watches, instead of waiting for someone to log in.
A file trail that builds itself. Document Created, Image Created and Video Created can log every upload in a project sheet, which helps when a buyer asks what was shared and when.
What Zapier does not do here: there is a single action, Register Customer, and no search, so a Zap cannot look up a buyer in NoviHome or upload a document there. Nothing can be updated or deleted from Zapier. NoviHome is mostly a source of events, not a destination.

Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Six words come back across this page. Here they are, in plain English.
- Zap
- The automation you build: one starting event, then one or more steps that run every time that event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in NoviHome (or another app) that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
- Action
- What the Zap does once started: the step that creates, updates or sends something on your behalf.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task equals one action that completed successfully; your plan counts those.
- Polling vs instant
- Polling means Zapier checks the app on a timer. Instant means the app calls Zapier the moment the event happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
What a NoviHome Zap really costs
Zapier bills tasks, not triggers. Waiting for a new lead or message costs nothing; each action that succeeds counts once.
- Free plan100 tasks a month
- Steps on the free plan1 trigger + 1 action
- Paid plan required for NoviHomeNo
- NoviHome instant triggers8 of 8
A Zap with two actions uses two tasks per run, and a failed action is not counted. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but each one is limited to two steps: one trigger, one action. A filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. NoviHome itself is open to free accounts. All eight triggers are instant, so the polling grid below never delays them. Chat messages can add up fast, so watch the task count on that one.
Connect your NoviHome account in 3 steps
- 01
Open your connections
In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A connection is your NoviHome account linked once, then reused by every Zap that touches NoviHome.
- 02
Pick NoviHome
Type NoviHome in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. You need an existing NoviHome account, with access to the buyers and projects the Zap should follow.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
A new tab opens on NoviHome. Sign in with the account the Zaps should act as, then allow Zapier to access it. From then on, every NoviHome step of every Zap reuses this one connection.
Your first NoviHome Zap
GoalEvery new NoviHome lead is created in your CRM and announced to the sales channel.
- 01
Create the Zap and pick the trigger
Start a new Zap in the editor, choose NoviHome as the app and Customer Created as the event, then select your NoviHome connection.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent leads of your account, so you map the next steps on a real buyer rather than an invented one.
- 03
Add the CRM action
Add your CRM as the first action and map the lead's name and contact details from NoviHome into the matching fields of the new contact.
- 04
Add the team alert
Add a second action that posts a short message to your sales channel. Two actions make this a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan.
- 05
Test each step, then publish
Test both actions and check the contact and the message arrived as expected. When they did, click Publish to switch the Zap on for good.
NoviHome triggers: what can start a Zap
8 events start a Zap when something happens in NoviHome, and 8 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
Chat Message Created
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a chat message has been created.”
Fires on each new message in a NoviHome chat. Buyers often ask their questions there, so this is the trigger that keeps response times short when your team lives in other tools.
Customer Created
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a customer (a.k.a lead) is created.”
Starts the Zap when a customer, which NoviHome also calls a lead, is added. It is the natural entry point to feed your CRM or your welcome sequence with every new prospect.
Customer Updated
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a customer (a.k.a lead) is updated.”
Reacts whenever an existing customer or lead record changes in NoviHome. Use it to keep your CRM and NoviHome telling the same story without a weekly export.
Document Created
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a document is created.”
Fires when a document is added in NoviHome, whatever its kind. It gives you a record of what was shared, outside the portal.
Image Created
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when an image is created.”
Picks up each image added to NoviHome, such as the photos shared with buyers as their home takes shape. It turns those uploads into a signal your other tools can act on.
Note Created
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a note is created.”
Reacts to each new note in NoviHome, the remarks kept on a buyer or a project. Notes are often where the real context lives, so sending them on helps.
Registration Created
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a registration is created.”
Marks the creation of a registration in NoviHome, the point a buyer is set up on the portal. It marks the start of the buyer's journey on your side.
Video Created
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a video is created.”
Each new video in NoviHome, such as a walkthrough or a progress update for a buyer, starts the Zap. Video often carries the most effort, so it deserves its own follow-up.
NoviHome action: what a Zap can do
NoviHome gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Register Customer
ActionIn Zapier“Registers a customer in NoviHome.”
Registers a buyer in NoviHome from your CRM or sales tool, so they get portal access without double entry.
When a NoviHome Zap breaks
Zapier links no help article to NoviHome and lists no specific limit for it. What breaks is what breaks on any Zap.
These four cases cover most surprises in the first weeks. The Zapier troubleshooting page goes further when a run fails without a clear reason.
Past buyers and files are never sent
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you publish it. Leads, documents and photos already in NoviHome stay untouched; moving that history is a separate job.The Zap feeds itself
Register Customer creates a buyer, which can fire Customer Created or Registration Created again. Keep those flows apart or the Zap loops and burns tasks.A photo dump gets held back
When dozens of images or a bulk import land at once, Zapier's flood protection can hold the batch back instead of running everything. No ID to match on
Register Customer stops without its Customer Id/Number, First Name and Last Name. A CRM record missing one of them fails at this step.
