Pinpointe Zapier integrationAutomate Pinpointe with Zapier.
The Pinpointe Zapier integration, in plain words. Pinpointe gives Zapier 9 triggers, 3 actions and 1 search, all about subscribers, databases, tags and unsubscribes. Here is what each one does, what it costs and what breaks.

What the Pinpointe Zapier integration actually does
The integration plugs Pinpointe, an email marketing and contact management platform organised around databases of subscribers, into Zapier, which chains apps together without code. Changes in your lists can start work in other tools, and other tools can add, update or unsubscribe people in Pinpointe.
Three results, each tied to real operations. First, lists that fill themselves: Add or Update a Subscriber puts a contact from a form, a shop or a CRM into the right database, and can enrol them in that database's drip campaigns. Second, opt-outs that travel: Subscriber Unsubscribes From a Database and Master Unsubscribe List start a Zap (the automation you build in Zapier) when someone leaves, so your CRM or support tool can stop contacting them too. Third, segments that trigger follow-ups: Tagged Subscribers fires when a subscriber gets a tag, which is a clean hand-off point to a sales tool or a team chat.
Now the limits. Every trigger here is a polling one, checked on a timer: nothing reaches Zapier the moment it happens. Pinpointe has no action to send a campaign, create a tag or delete a subscriber from Zapier; the three actions only add, update or unsubscribe. And the single search finds a subscriber by email address in one database, nothing broader. Campaign content and sending stay inside Pinpointe.

Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Eight words come back on every Zapier screen. Here they are in plain terms, with email lists as the example.
- Zap
- The automation you build in Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event that starts the Zap, such as a new subscriber in a Pinpointe database. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, like adding a subscriber.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully, and the count on your plan is a count of those.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked on a timer; an instant one is reported by the app itself. All nine Pinpointe triggers are polling ones.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it there otherwise.
- Search step
- A step that looks up something already in an app, such as a subscriber, so the steps that follow can use what it found.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action, a filter or a search makes it one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What a Pinpointe Zap costs in tasks
Pinpointe is not a premium app on Zapier, so it works on the free plan. Zapier counts tasks, and only completed actions are billed.
- Any Pinpointe trigger0 tasks
- Each successful action1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps only
- Paid plan required for PinpointeNo
The nine triggers cost nothing, and checking Pinpointe for new data is free however often Zapier looks. Each action that succeeds costs one task; one that fails is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps and a check every 15 minutes, but only two-step Zaps. An unsubscribe that feeds the Master Unsubscribe List fits. Add Find a Subscriber, a filter or a second action and the Zap is multi-step, which needs a paid plan that also checks more often.
Connect your Pinpointe account
- 01
Open Apps and add a connection
In your Zapier account, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. In the dialog, type Pinpointe in the search box and pick it from the list of results.
- 02
Sign in to Pinpointe
Click Add connection. Pinpointe opens in a new tab: sign in with the account that holds your subscriber databases. Without a Pinpointe account of your own, the connection cannot be made.
- 03
Grant access
Approve the access Zapier asks for. If the Zap has to read or change databases you do not own yourself, check first that your user has read or write rights on them. Every Pinpointe step then reuses this connection.
Your first Pinpointe Zap, step by step
GoalWhen someone unsubscribes from a given Pinpointe database and meets your condition, add their address to the Master Unsubscribe List.
- 01
Pick the trigger
Build a new Zap, choose Pinpointe as the app that starts it and Subscriber Unsubscribes From a Database as the event, then pick the database to watch.
- 02
Test on real data
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items from that database, so the rest of the Zap gets mapped on a real unsubscribe rather than a guess.
- 03
Add the filter
Add a Filter step and set the field to look at, the rule and the value, so only the unsubscribes you mean to spread go through. The Zap is now multi-step: paid plan.
- 04
Add the action
Add the Pinpointe action Add Subscriber to Master Unsubscribe List and map the Email Address that the trigger brought back into its only required box.
- 05
Test, then publish
Test the action with a test address of your own and read what came back. If it looks right, click Publish. The Zap then checks Pinpointe at the interval of your plan.
Pinpointe triggers
9 events start a Zap when something happens in Pinpointe. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
New Database
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new database is created.”
Spots each database created in your Pinpointe account, which makes it the starting point for anything that should happen when a new list is born.
Customfield Options
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when database custom fields change.”
Watches the custom fields of one database and starts the Zap when they change, so a tool that mirrors your list structure can keep up.
New Subscriber
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new subscriber is created.”
Fires for each subscriber created in the database you pick, and hands that subscriber to the following steps of the Zap.
Subscriber Bounces From a Database
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a subscriber bounces from a database.”
Catches the subscribers whose emails bounce in a given database, so the people your mailings no longer reach stop going unnoticed.
Master Unsubscribe List
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new email address is added to the Master Unsubscribe List.”
Reacts when a new email address lands on the Master Unsubscribe List of your account, whatever database the person came from.
New Subscriber Added or Existing Subscriber Updated After Date
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new subscriber is added, or an existing subscriber is updated, since a particular date.”
Combines new and updated subscribers in one database, limited to those after a date you set, so changes as well as sign-ups can start a Zap.
Subscriber Unsubscribes From a Database
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when someone unsubscribes from a database.”
Detects people leaving one particular database, which is the signal to respect their choice in every other tool that holds their address.
Tag
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a tag is created.”
Notices each tag created in Pinpointe, independent of who receives it later, which helps keep a reference of your segments elsewhere.
Tagged Subscribers
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a subscriber is tagged.”
Starts the Zap when a subscriber receives one of the tags you choose, turning a segment change in Pinpointe into a hand-off to another team.
Pinpointe actions
Pinpointe gives you 3 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Add or Update a Subscriber
ActionIn Zapier“Add or Update a Subscriber”
Puts an email address into the database you choose, creating the subscriber or updating them if they are already there.
Unsubscribe a Subscriber
ActionIn Zapier“Unsubscribe a subscriber from a database”
Removes an address from one database's mailings, leaving the person's other Pinpointe lists untouched.
Add Subscriber to Master Unsubscribe List
ActionIn Zapier“Add Subscriber to Master Unsubscribe List”
Adds an address to the Master Unsubscribe List of your account, the account-wide opt-out rather than a single database's.
Pinpointe search
1 search step looks for data that already exists in Pinpointe, so a later step can use it.
A search step looks something up before acting. Pinpointe's searches sit at the bottom of the action-event list, under the SEARCH heading of the Action event menu, and three settings decide what happens next.
Find a Subscriber
SearchIn Zapier“Find a subscriber by email address”
Looks up a subscriber by email address in a database you choose, and hands what it found to the steps that follow.
The three settings every search exposes
- Successful if no search results are found?Left on its default, a search that finds nobody stops the Zap there and the steps that depended on it are skipped. Switched on, the Zap carries on empty-handed.
- Create if it doesn't exist yet? This box turns a search into a find-or-create on apps that offer it. Pinpointe exposes no such variant: to add a missing subscriber, follow the search with Add or Update a Subscriber.
- If multiple search results are found?Three ways out when several items match: keep the first one, which is the default, stop the Zap, or hand all of them on at once.
When a Pinpointe Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Pinpointe, and no limit specific to the app is documented. What breaks is what can break on any Zap built on polling triggers and lists.
Four cases to know before you publish. The loop is the one that hurts most with an email tool, because triggers and actions here touch the same lists. For a step-by-step way to debug a Zap, see Zapier troubleshooting.
The list that feeds itself
New Subscriber on a database plus Add or Update a Subscriber on that same database: each write starts the Zap again, and your task count goes fast.No backlog
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Subscribers, tags and unsubscribes from before are never picked up; moving them is a separate job.A flood after an import
A bulk import or a migration can make a trigger return a huge batch at once, and Zapier's flood protection may hold it back instead of running it.Seen once, sent once
On a polling trigger Zapier remembers what it has already seen, so the same subscriber does not start the Zap twice even if a later check returns it again.
