Jobber alternatives: where to go when the per-seat bill gets too big
Five destinations, one per reason to leave, and an eight-step exit plan.
The short answer: Housecall Pro if you want the closest like-for-like switch with 5 users included from Essentials; ServiceM8 if your crew is growing but your job count isn't, since paid plans come with unlimited users; Tradify if you're a small trade business that wants simple per-user pricing; Synchroteam if your techs run routes every day. If you operate in France or elsewhere in the EU, Organilog bills in euros and handles French e-invoicing. One thing before you pick: Jobber only offers a documented export for your client list. Your quotes, jobs and invoices need to be saved by hand before you cancel. We compared these five destinations against their official pricing pages in 2026.
The ranking is editorial: a sponsored spot is always flagged on its card, and no affiliate link ever changes a score.
Why crews leave Jobber
Jobber gets a lot right: a clean mobile app, a full flow from request to payment, and strong scores on review sites. People leave for other reasons. The bill grows with the team, prices go up, and key features sit a plan or two higher. Six reasons, all checked in 2026.
The second tech is the expensive one
Core, the cheapest plan, covers a single user: $49 a month with no commitment, $29 a month billed yearly. The moment you hire, you move to Connect or Grow. Connect for 5 users runs $199 a month with no commitment, Grow for 5 users $299. Each extra user adds $29 a month. The price jump at user two is the complaint we saw most often in reviews.
Price increases, again
Jobber raised the price of Connect, pointing to higher operating costs, and the new price kicks in at your next billing date. In the Jobber community, one owner describes a bill that went from 119 to 148 without being asked. On an electricians' forum, another says the price keeps going up, hit $139 a month at the last increase, and that he plans to leave. Replies point him to Housecall Pro.
Key features live on higher plans
Financial reports, expense tracking and part of the automation are locked behind higher plans. One reviewer paying around $180 a month says the software is already expensive enough without upselling the basics. Add the optional marketing tools and card fees, and the real monthly cost ends up well above the plan price.
Card fees that sting
Jobber Payments is convenient: clients pay from the invoice, and card payouts land in 2 business days in the US and Canada. But reviewers regularly call the card processing fees steep, and there's no late fee option on invoices. If most of your revenue comes in by card, fees matter as much as the subscription.
Quotes and invoices you can't shape
Reviewers mention limited customization of quotes and invoices, reports that don't go deep enough, and gaps for specific trades. Pest control companies, for example, can't track the chemicals they apply. Some users also call the interface dated and report duplicate quote lines when syncing through the API.
Support that slows down
Recent reviews point to slower support, with nearly one in five reviews on one large review site giving a single star. The overall score stays good, but the complaints are consistent: price increases, upsells and support. If those are your three pain points, switching makes sense.
You're leaving because… go to…
The right Jobber alternative depends on what's pushing you out and how big your crew is. Usually one card fits. Each one jumps to the full write-up below.

Jobber alternatives, tool by tool
For each tool: why you'd switch to it, who it's for, its limit, how to move your data over from Jobber, and what it costs. Prices come from the official pricing pages in 2026. Workiz and FieldPulse, which show up in most lists, only quote prices on request, and ServiceTitan publishes no price grid at all: we left them out of the ranking because you can't compare a price you can't see.
The tools
Housecall Pro: the like-for-like switch with more seats included
Closest switchWhy switch to Housecall Pro. It's the name Jobber users recommend to each other on trade forums when someone wants out. Same audience (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, cleaning), same request-to-payment flow. The difference shows up on a crew bill: Essentials includes 5 users and Max includes 8. There's no contract, and payment fees are published up front: card payments from 2.59%, bank transfers at 1%.
Who it's for. Home service businesses in the US with 2 to 8 techs who like how Jobber works but not what it costs per seat.
Who it's not for. A solo operator on a tight budget: Basic at $59 a month billed yearly costs more than Jobber Core at $29.
Its limit. Basic covers one user, just like Core. Past 8 users on Max, each extra user costs $35 a month.
How to migrate. Import the client CSV you exported from Jobber. The 14-day trial runs on Max with no card required, so check before it ends that the features you rely on are on the plan you'll actually pay for.
- Price
- Basic $59/mo yearly, $79 monthly
- Crew
- Essentials $149, 5 users
- Best for
- US home service crews
- Limit
- Basic is 1 user
ServiceM8: pay for jobs, not for seats
Priced by jobsWhy switch to ServiceM8. ServiceM8 comes from Australia and flips Jobber's pricing model: paid plans are counted in jobs per month, with unlimited users. Add an apprentice or a second van and the bill stays put. A free plan covers 1 user and 30 jobs a month.
Who it's for. Small crews that do fewer, longer jobs, and owners who want to add staff without paying another seat.
Who it's not for. High-volume businesses running dozens of short calls a day: the job cap fills up fast.
Its limit. Every plan has a ceiling: 50 jobs a month on Starter ($29), 150 on Growing ($79), 500 on Premium ($149), 1,500 and up on Premium Plus ($349). Go over and you move up a plan.
How to migrate. Import clients from your Jobber CSV. Before choosing a plan, count your jobs over the last three months in Jobber: that number sets your price, not your headcount.
- Price
- Starter $29/mo, 50 jobs
- Free
- 1 user, 30 jobs/mo
- Best for
- growing crew, steady volume
- Limit
- monthly job cap
Tradify: straightforward per-user pricing for small trade businesses
Simple per userWhy switch to Tradify. Tradify targets trade businesses and is priced per user, with a 14-day trial that includes every feature. Instead of tiers that bundle 5, 10 or 15 seats, you pay for the people you actually have. For a 3-person crew, that's easier to read than Jobber's grid.
Who it's for. Small trade businesses of 2 to 5 people who want a predictable bill that grows one seat at a time.
Who it's not for. A solo operator who could live on a free plan, or a larger crew that would pay less on a bundled tier.
Its limit. Per-user pricing cuts both ways: at $47 to $61 per user a month, a crew of ten pays $470 or more, more than Jobber Connect for 10 users billed yearly ($229).
How to migrate. Import clients from your Jobber CSV and rebuild your price list from the products and services file you exported. Use the 14-day trial to run real jobs before you cancel.
- Price
- Lite $47, Pro $51, Plus $61 per user/mo
- Trial
- 14 days
- Best for
- small trade crews
- Limit
- gets costly past 5 users
Synchroteam: for crews that live on routes
RoutesWhy switch to Synchroteam. Synchroteam is built for field teams that plan a lot: routes, client sites, recurring maintenance visits. Standard includes everything except route optimization, which comes with Premium. The first admin is free, so you only pay for the techs on mobile. It syncs with QuickBooks Online.
Who it's for. Maintenance, elevator, security and HVAC companies with several techs and daily routes, sometimes across countries.
Who it's not for. A solo operator, or a business that mostly needs nice-looking quotes.
Its limit. Standard is $39 per user a month billed yearly ($49 monthly), Premium $64 ($79 monthly), and you need at least one paid mobile license. With 5 techs on Standard, that's about $195 a month.
How to migrate. Import clients and their sites from the Jobber CSV, then rebuild your recurring jobs. Use the 14-day trial (no card) to run one real week of routes before you cancel Jobber.
- Price
- $39 per user/mo yearly
- Trial
- 14 days, no card
- Best for
- routes, multi-site
- Limit
- route optimization on Premium
Organilog: if your business runs in France or the EU
For the EUWhy switch to Organilog. Jobber Payments only works in the US, Canada and the UK, and Jobber bills in dollars. If you run a crew in France, Organilog covers the same ground in euros: scheduling, jobs, an offline mobile app, a client portal, stock and time tracking. Its Business plan adds invoicing, online quote signing, online payment and French e-invoicing through an approved platform.
Who it's for. Service companies with 2 to 30 techs in France: maintenance, cleaning, pools, heating.
Who it's not for. A US business: it's built for the French market.
Its limit. Invoicing and quote signing only start on Business, at €35 per user a month. Premium plans are billed yearly. Public reviews are still scarce.
How to migrate. Import the client CSV from Jobber and rebuild your price list from your products and services export. Start with a sample of 20 clients during the free trial.
- Price
- Pro €19, Business €35 per user/mo
- Free
- Basic plan, no support
- Best for
- crews in France
- Limit
- invoicing from Business
What each tool costs for 1, 5 and 10 techs
Plan prices hide the real bill. Here is the monthly cost for a crew of 1, 5 and 10, from each official pricing page, on yearly billing when the vendor offers it. Our default pick: Housecall Pro for a US crew of up to 8, ServiceM8 if your team grows faster than your job count. Per-user tools look cheap solo and get expensive at 10.

Leave Jobber in eight steps
Order matters. Jobber exports your clients cleanly, but its help center documents no export for quotes, jobs or invoices. Each step protects part of your history.
The steps
List everything Jobber runs for you
Day 1Write down clients and property addresses, your products and services list, open quotes, recurring jobs, unpaid invoices, automated reminders, and users with their permissions. One line per item, with its equivalent in the new tool. That list is your checklist on switch day.
- Time
- one to two hours
- Risk if skipped
- a forgotten recurring job
Check your renewal date and admin access
BudgetOnly an account admin can cancel. Plan changes and cancellations take effect on your next billing date. If you pay yearly, check the exact date before you plan the move: leaving two months after renewal means paying ten months for nothing.
- Who
- admins only
- Takes effect
- next billing date
Export your clients to CSV
CriticalGo to Clients, then More Actions, then Export Clients. Pick CSV over vCard: it keeps tags, property addresses, contacts and custom fields. The file arrives by email, split into chunks of 1,500 rows. Export is admin-only and available on some plans only, so export before you downgrade.
- Format
- CSV or vCard, by email
- Limit
- 1,500 rows per file
Save your products and services list
Your price list holds years of tweaks. A tip from the Jobber community: export your products and services, edit them in Excel, and reimport. The same file fills the price list in your new tool once you map the columns.
- Tool
- Excel or Google Sheets
- Saves
- retyping every price
Download quotes, jobs and invoices as PDFs
Must doJobber's help center documents no export for quotes, jobs or invoices. Download your sent invoices and signed quotes as PDFs, pull the reports you need, and store everything by year outside Jobber. A closed account won't give them back.
- Format
- PDFs and reports
- When
- before you cancel
Start the new tool's trial with a sample
Housecall Pro, ServiceM8, Tradify and Synchroteam all offer 14-day trials. Import about 20 clients first, create three quotes and one job, and have a tech complete it on mobile. If the sample works, import the rest.
- Sample
- about 20 clients
- Test
- one job completed on mobile
Set up payments before the first invoice
Compare card and bank transfer fees on your real monthly revenue, not just the subscription. Housecall Pro publishes 2.59% by card and 1% by bank transfer. Send your first real invoice to a client you trust before rolling it out.
- Compare
- fees on real revenue
Move the crew over, then cancel Jobber
FinishPick a quiet week, train the crew on the mobile app, and run both tools side by side for a week at most. Collect open Jobber invoices first. Then cancel from the admin account, before your next billing date.
- Overlap
- one week at most
- Before cancelling
- open invoices collected

What makes a Jobber exit go wrong
The same mistakes show up again and again when crews change field service software. None of them are technical. They're things people forget, and each one costs more than the hour it would have taken to avoid.
Assuming everything exports
Jobber's export covers clients, not your history. Cancel before saving invoices and quotes as PDFs, and they're gone. Start there, not with picking the new tool.
Downgrading before exporting
Client export is only available on some plans. Dropping to a cheaper plan to save money during the move can close your way out. Export first, change plans after.
Comparing plan prices, not crew prices
Jobber bundles seats in tiers of 5, 10 and 15 users, Tradify and Synchroteam charge per user, ServiceM8 charges per job. Run the numbers for your actual headcount and job count over a full year.
Ignoring card fees
A cheaper plan with higher processing fees can cost you more. Work out what you take by card each month and compare fees on that amount.
Switching in peak season
An HVAC company switching in a heat wave, a lawn care crew switching in spring: the team learns new software at the worst time. Aim for your slowest weeks, with a buffer before your Jobber renewal.
Leaving the techs out
They fill in the job forms. If the mobile app annoys them, they'll go back to paper. Have them use it during the trial, and see our rankings of field service management software, plumbing software, HVAC software, cleaning business software, landscaping software and pest control software.
- Inventory of clients, price list, recurring jobs and unpaid invoices
- Renewal date checked by an admin
- Clients exported to CSV before any plan change
- Products and services list saved in a spreadsheet
- Invoices and signed quotes saved as PDFs by year
- Sample of clients imported and one job completed on mobile
- Payment fees compared on real monthly revenue
- Open Jobber invoices collected before cancelling
Jobber alternatives: common questions
What is the best alternative to Jobber?
For most US crews, Housecall Pro: same workflow, and Essentials includes 5 users for $149 a month billed yearly. If your team is growing faster than your job count, ServiceM8 is worth a look since its paid plans include unlimited users.
Is there a free alternative to Jobber?
Yes, with limits. ServiceM8 has a free plan for 1 user and 30 jobs a month. Organilog has a free Basic plan without support, aimed at France. For a real crew, no free plan holds up: our ranking of field service management software compares the first paid tiers.
How much does Jobber cost for a crew of 5?
Connect for 5 users is $199 a month with no commitment, $169 with a one-year commitment, or $149 a month billed yearly. Grow for 5 users is $299, $259 or $229. Each extra user is $29 a month. With 3 techs, you usually end up paying for 5 seats.
How do I export my data from Jobber?
Clients, then More Actions, then Export Clients: you get a CSV or vCard by email, in files of 1,500 rows. Only an admin can do it, and it depends on your plan. Jobber documents no export for quotes, jobs or invoices, so download those as PDFs before you leave.
Housecall Pro or Jobber: which is cheaper?
Solo, Jobber Core is cheaper at $29 a month billed yearly versus $59 for Housecall Pro Basic. With a crew, Housecall Pro usually wins: Essentials covers 5 users at $149 billed yearly, and Max covers 8 at $299. Our HVAC software ranking compares more options.
Does Jobber work outside North America?
Partly. Jobber Payments only works in the US, Canada and the UK, ACH bank payments are US only, and third-party payment integrations cover USD, CAD and AUD. In France or Spain, you'd need a separate way to take payments.
Can I get my money back if I cancel mid-year?
Plan changes and cancellations take effect at your next billing date, so a yearly plan runs to its end. That's why checking your renewal date is step two of our migration plan. At the end of a trial, Jobber says nothing is deleted.
